UFO: Alien Invasion code at SourceForge.net

UFO: Alien Invasion was a very promising fan-made game built on a modified version of the Quake 2 engine. It was inspired by X-COM, and a demo was released well over a year ago. Sadly it seemed like the project slowly died after that, as so many before it. Sourcecode is available at the official site however, and recently a SourceForge project was started. You can read the note about it in this topic, and find the projects page at SourceForge.net

DAMN BLAST AND F-ING HELL

That demo was bloody good, somebody take their families hostage and make them complete the thing......please

Yes the demo really rocked and it is really a same that they didn't complete the game.

I hope that someone could fill their shoes and take it to the end.

My only objection was of the kneeling stance looked rediculous.

Hi

We are three programmers right now - but we are still searching for modellers, skinners, artist (sound and graphics) and mappers.

Oh, not to forget the betatesters. If you have the chance, grab the cvs and give the game a try.

There is some really great progress on the codebase. But there are still a few bugs that needs to be fixed before we can release the next version. The basemanagement, random-maps, research and stuff like this maybe will be included in the next version (depends on how fast we can fix the bugs).

if you don't know how to model, skin, map and so on, there are a few basic tutorials on https://ufoai.sf.net and a mailinglist as well as an irc-channel on quakenet (named #ufo:ai ) where you can ask your questions.

Hope to see you

Martin

the irc-channel moved over to irc.freenode.org - channelname is still #ufo:ai

btw. we need some windows-coders to make the game in its new version available on windows, too. interested? join mailinglist and/or irc and help us.

mac users are welcome, too. we are willing to port it to mac - but noone of us owns a mac... someone around here?

btw. the faster we gets a windows-build, the faster the new version will come. we have plans to release a new techdemo to show the progress and eliminate bugs in the "real" next new version.

best regards

martin
