  3. Today we released version 2.2.1 which is a bugfix release for 2.2 + some little new features. Have fun with it PS. A newspost would be nice - to not get the same bugreports over and over again
  4. blame ati try to reinstall older drivers - the newer ones are b0rked - afaik version 7.9 works. our forums have more information about this issue.
  5. The people over at JA2-Stracciatella did it again - they released a new version of their JA2-project. There main goal is to bring JA2 on a lot of different plattforms and fix a lot of the Vanilla bugs. It would be nice if you could support this project with a small newspost, too. http://ja2.dragonriders.de/
  6. You just need the ufai-2.2-win32.exe if you are using windows - this is the installer and you don't need anything else. the rest is the linux version, single data archives for packagers and so on.

    UFO: Cydonia's Fall

problems with copyright still remain, remember projects like stratagus. they had to remove the support for warcraft 2 and change the name. but it all depends on the copyright holder, even scummvm once got into touch with lucas arts about those issues. and abandoned ware is mostly not copyright free. in most cases the copyright holder just doesn't care - but they are still somewhat "illegal". let's hope the best, because it looks very cool - but i would really like to know under which license they release their work. i can't find anything about it on their page
  10. version 0.5 with the following changelog was released: * Fixed Russian translation, ja2-stracciatella is playable with Russian data-files now. * Fixed Polish translation, ja2-stracciatella is playable with Polish data-files now. * Fixed incorrectly encoded cyrillic texts in non-Russian versions (Ivan!). * Repair and add some more blitters. * Fixed a vanilla bug which put some large items in small slots when doctoring. * As usual code cleanups and minor fixes.
  11. hey, thanks for posting this we need all your votes :-)
  12. we have implemented destruction for some tiles - but it's up to the mapmakers to use this feature - not everything will be destroyable (remember, we are using the quake2 engine)
  13. There is a little hotfix update available: if you encountered savegame problems (not being able to load your game after some time) - you should download the hotfix: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ufoai/ufo...hotfix2.tar.bz2
  14. you should also try the multiplayer features

  17. hi the links are broken again mattn
  18. thanks Slaughter - but i think the time for a news post is not here. first we have to fix some bugs and finish some features. but i'll come back to this offer - thanks again
  19. no, currently we don't have a release date for 2.1, because it's still a little unstable - btw did i mention that we are searching betatester :-D.... ?! (did i even repeat me - oh what a shame) but i would bet that some of you will really love the new multiplayer modes and even some of the new singleplayer features. i don't think that we will need another year to finish 2.1 - but as i said - no date yet - can be next week - next month... John Carmack: "It's done when it's done" :-D and feedback is always welcome (and very important to make some devs happy - in the time where everyone seams to only play fps-games )
  20. we are currently heading towards a new release - a release of the 2.1 code tree - you can find latest beta versions here: http://mattn.ninex.info (currently uploading a new version). if you encounter bugs (be sure you will) - which is most likely due to a lot of new features - please let us know in our irc channel ( irc.freenode.org #ufo:ai ) or via our bugtracker at http://sourceforge.net/projects/ufoai/ . I also would like to let you know, that we have greatly improved multiplayer gaming - coop, deathmatch and team deathmatch are implemented and working very nice now. We also have a masterserver set up to let the in-game server browser be alive. If you want to play a multiplayer round, just enter the above given irc channel and let us know. It would be us a pleasure to do some "gametesting" :-D best regards martin
  21. all the links in this news post are broken. there are quotes around the links and the base uri from strategycore.co.uk is not removed - they all end in 404
  22. you are fast...:-) you can find more infos here: UFO:AI Homepage It would be cool if someone could make a newspost thanks martin
  23. the irc-channel moved over to irc.freenode.org - channelname is still #ufo:ai btw. we need some windows-coders to make the game in its new version available on windows, too. interested? join mailinglist and/or irc and help us. mac users are welcome, too. we are willing to port it to mac - but noone of us owns a mac... someone around here? btw. the faster we gets a windows-build, the faster the new version will come. we have plans to release a new techdemo to show the progress and eliminate bugs in the "real" next new version. best regards martin
  24. Hi We are three programmers right now - but we are still searching for modellers, skinners, artist (sound and graphics) and mappers. Oh, not to forget the betatesters. If you have the chance, grab the cvs and give the game a try. There is some really great progress on the codebase. But there are still a few bugs that needs to be fixed before we can release the next version. The basemanagement, random-maps, research and stuff like this maybe will be included in the next version (depends on how fast we can fix the bugs). if you don't know how to model, skin, map and so on, there are a few basic tutorials on http://ufoai.sf.net and a mailinglist as well as an irc-channel on quakenet (named #ufo:ai ) where you can ask your questions. Hope to see you Martin
