  1. Lets hope they do a good translation this time. As far as screenshots are conserned the game looks a lot more polished with shadows and nice details that add depth. I only wish they do a good job with the rpg elements of the game and especially with the interaction between characters which was very flat in Brigade E5. All in all it looks like a promising title.
  2. You are refering to the one that split the screen in four? I loved it. A;though it could get frustrating at times. Space hulk ventured in a similar venuebut I cannot remember which one was first Hired guns or Space hulk
  3. If they manage to pull this one off then I can only say one thing. Bye bye JA3 (you tried our patience long enough) Welcome JAZZ (although the title sounds kind of weird) :-) :-)
  4. I played the demo and really loved the new soldier avatars. The spacesuits with the semi-reflective screens are beautyfull. I almost pre-ordered the game from play.com. BUT then i remembered the fiasco with the numerous bugs of aftershock (i had pre-ordered the collector's edition back then) and decided thath the prudent thing to do was to wait untill after the game was released and the first reviews were out.
  5. Been tracking this game for quite a while now and i believe that this SPM actually works, not to mention that is propably the next step forward. Yes the ufo was most likely the first to inovate but at the end of the day it was a let down. I only hope that Brigade will appeal to gamers despite being rough around the edges (graphics to be precise) so that we might see an improved second. Of course there is always JA3 somewhere around the corner but it is a long way to that corner and the game's development has a lot in common to the DUKE NUKEM 3D story to take any announcement on face value any longer.
  6. Well it certainly does not come as a surprise especially after the internal changes in GFI. Lets face it Stratey first and every other company relaited to them have a very bad track record when it comes to JA franchise development and publishing. That said my hopes of seeing a new JA game within 2006 (if not anytime soon, 2007,2006, 2009,2010) just died. Now my only hopes reside with Brgade E5 (unfortunately another Strategyfirst upcoming title) although I have serious reservations conserning the graphics and interface controls of the game. Well one can only hope for the best.
  7. Hei Slaughter when do you plan posting the interview from E3 consering JA3D ???? Come on, don't keep us waiting.
  8. Loved the demo The game retains all of the series great ellements and adds even more. The combat system has been upgraded The graphics are from another planet although their factionality in the map has slighlty decreased. Meaning that you can easily ignore spots that are hidden by trees. You now have to rotate the camera often to get the full picture. But that is only a minor anoiance compared to the gorgeous Graphics you get (started drulling all over again time to take a break). If you loved heroes III then i believe from the little the demo shows so far that you should pick this game of the series.
  9. 1. Then what are we doing bying these games if not wargaming??? 2. Yes I would go even further and play the IRAKI against the so called US and Brits freedom forces
  10. I have been playing the game since Dec. I liked 1. The title (this one is for "Baby Arm" ;-) ). 2. The setting/theme. 3. The ss graphics and physics engine which is greatly enhanced in Hammer and Sickle. In particular the uniforms and models of the Americans are amazing. 4. The almost one-shot one-kill gamepley. 5. The action point cost which in my opinion is the most well ballance of the three games (SS, SS2, H&S). 6. No Panzerclinees whatsthename :-))). I should note that at first i didn't mind those but when revisiting the game i found that they spoilt the whole experience. I didn't like 1. The way the story is excecuted. It is very confusing at the least. Goals are blery and often you are left doing things without knowing why. In adition dialogues lack character. Suggestions (to the developers if they ever read the post) PLEASE create a historical setting game (WWII, Korean war, Vietnam, african conflicts etc). It is my opinion that the engine's potential has not been fully exploited and while there is great potential in creating superb/classic games, untill now no such games have been produced. Maybe a more historically accurate setting and better global strategy and economy management will help.
  11. Yes the demo really rocked and it is really a same that they didn't complete the game. I hope that someone could fill their shoes and take it to the end. My only objection was of the kneeling stance looked rediculous.
  12. I have to agree with FGbrooks' comments. I don't understand how a beautifull game engine (SS) cannot be properly exploited to greate a vastly superior tactical game. I can only hope that they will eventually publish a game based on the above engine that will be of grander scale and be more open ended ALA JA.
  13. I am experiencing similar problems. Crashes to desktop for no aparent reason have not been fixed by the patch. At least not for me that is. At the 1st mission the reticulans spot and shoot at me through the wagon trains. Issues of spoting but not being able to shoot at enemies have not been cleared. Trying to autorun the game from the cd it doesn't load but I get an error message. Now what the **** have they been fixing i really don't know. If this is their idea of a patch then this is the last time i wil be bothered to play their games. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BUGGY GAMES. NOT FOR DEVELOPERS NOT FOR THE DISTRIBUTORS NOT FOR THE RETAILERS. WOULD YOU BUY A TV SET THAT PARTLY WORKS AND NOT DEMAND A REFUND????? THINK ABOUT THAT THE NEXT TIME YOU BUY THEIR GAMES. I AM FED UP WITH THIER EXCUSES AND WITH THEIR INCOMPLETE GAME MY RECCOMENDATION DON'T BUY THE GAME :stop: :stop: :stop: :stop:
  14. Played the demo today can't say I was impressed the dialogs don't feel right We just have to wait for the end product to accurately judge
  15. Point 8. The allien technology resource is very scarse and can hardly support future demands for one thing. Most importantly though, to characterize scavanged allien artifacts as resources and expect a constant flow is kind of foolish. As for my conclusion First of all it is MY conclusion. I don't expect people to adapt it or not. I expressed what i am feeling. For the month spend playing the game I would say that it is not a matter of time spend because it is a good game or not but more because I wanted to exaust all possibilities that I might miss something important that could reverse my opinion. It is like reading a book you just cannot express a solid opinion untill you have read it to the final page. I would like to say though, that the game has potential. But smaller or larger "mistakes" are holding it back from being a classic. I was expecting better from Altar this time around. That is why I was let down.
  16. After playing the game for the better part of a month now I realized that bugs aside there is something missing. The emotions of great potential, let down by not up to par implemention, felt while playing AM started slowly kreeping up. Major issues: 1. the upkeep costs for the tack system are prepostrous. For what matters, the whole idea of rail tracks is questionable on its logic. How long does it take to construct one in reality or costs to operate in a daily basis?? 2. the lack of bartering (Guns, ammunition, technology etc) is frastrating. 3. the very little space in bases. 4. the lack of strategic importance of bases. 5. the diplomacy is very generic. 6. the frustrating limitation of only 5 players at its mission. 7. the repetition of tactical maps and situations and their very small size. 8. the resource system. Tactical combat has been vastly improved compared to AM. I would give them that. Speaking as a whole, dissapointment was what followed the initial excitement i felt when i played the game the first time. And then there are games like Rome Total war with similar notions of play (grand strategy and tactical play) that you always come back for more. Am i the only one feeling let down once more
  17. No it wouldn't If they can come up with laser, psi and plasma technologies and the floor plans to create such items then recycling is not just a distinct possible. More llikely a certainty
  18. I trully and utterly support your logical notion of recycling. It seems that the brilliant minds behind the game couldn't find a way to ballance it including such an option. On the other hand they could come up with a twisted notion of an economy based on rail tracks; go figure. I would also add to your proposal the option of bardering the items produced/collected to other factions in exchange for materials or other items needed. It seems though that common thinking is something that escapes the developers. I only wished they could have escaped the bugs infesting the game.
  19. Thats very impressing. (Sarcasm) If only they could make the game run steadily now. I have the Collector's edition and it sure is a bug collector's dream come true. Ah! and not to forget the badly implemented economic system (tracks and rails that need extra large quantities of allien high tech materials that cannot be produced only salvaged) Now, now, it really takes a brilliant mind to come up with something like that. How come I didn't think of that. (Sarcasm again in case the brilliant mind doesn't get it).
  20. Sadly nothing new. What would be more interesting at this point is an accurate release date that could be met.

    Bug report

    1. Increase the variety of soldiers' faces. 2. Increase the variety of missions. A nice addition would be to destroy a designated object or capture a "relic" etc. 3. I have a problem with the game crashing at the end of a succesfull Tactical mission. I send my squad to capture a province occupied by Cultists/Wargoth and at the end of the mission, the game crashes every time. I have saved the game near the end and replayed it more than a dozen times. No success at avoiding cashing to desktop.
  22. Slaughter I thought that only the demo's resolution was constricted to 1024*768. There was a post from you, if I am correct commenting on the resolution, which left me under the impression that the game will allow for higher resolutions. It is not that big a deal as i make it sound but IT IS a let down.

    Bug report

I have been playing the game since Monday and there hasn't been a game that haven't crashed. The game is pretty unstable when it comes to tactical. My card is an X800XL with 256 MB with the latest drivers from ATI. The system is powerfull enough to play games such as FEAR at very high detail . With the support the UFO developers have shown on ATI i would expect that such problems would not occure on ATI equiped PCs. By the way i have been playing FEAR and other visually hungry games and not once have i enountered such a problem. The only game i have been having these problems with is UFO Aftershock. You can understand my dissapointment espesially since i ordered the game since early summer and been expecting to play a COMPLETED game. I should add that the package i got is collector's edition with some very nice playing cards, a poster and fan fiction.

    Bug report

As with Stefan100 the game crached during the third tactical mission. At first speed ropped to a crawl and then dropped to windows with the panel asking me whether or not to make a report and send it.
  25. As i felt when i read your other post. THEY MUST BE JOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
