Well, after the previous disaster of an announcement (XCOM), this is great news in my book! Being one of the grumpy old X-Com veterans, I'll not pop the champagne yet, but Firaxis is one of the very few AAA developers out there that could possibly get this more or less right. *goes back to hiding*

Good for you Forrest... As amusing as it is to watch "Star Wars kid", people wanting to wave their phone around as it makes lightsaber sounds... Anyway, having a ring tone you like or similar is fine, but I just mean that I mostly avoid apps that I find useless or moronic. I'm only interested in useful apps. @FullAuto: I have SMSbackup+ and a few others in your list, but I'll check out the rest. Thanks for the heads up! Also, good tips on Appbrain and ROM's. Thanks!

That it is. I don't make a habit of installing kitty pets and lightsaber sounds, but it's still annoyingly small (and I have serious trouble seeing why they chose to save money on internal memory, given how cheap memory is these days). Anyway, thanks for the heads up! Suggestions for useful apps? What I use: http://www.appbrain.com/user/iolalog/

That's nice! I've considered rooting, but haven't seen great use for it yet. If one can use SD space for internal memory that sure makes rooting more tempting. Thanks for the tip!

Makes sense... I have the Desire too. Quite happy with it! Only two things that really annoy me is battery life (common enough problem with touch phones) and WAY too small internal memory (constant bother with apps).

Hi folks My Gmail account (as so many others) were used to send out spam yesterday. I initially thought I had a virus or similar, but it turns out Gawker was hacked and all their information has been released. News: lifehacker Source: Something Awful There's a gigantic torrent out there with all the passwords, e-mail addresses and so on. I'm changing passwords now, and I suggest you do the same if you think you may have been hit.
