Happy 2023 everyone! As always, I'll be around here most of the day. Drop me a PM if you need something, otherwise you'll probably be seeing me posting another update on my UFO2:ET playthrough. :)

Happy New Year everyone! This year is very special for me as it marks my 20th year since joining the X-COM.co.uk(aka x-com tactical command)/strategy core forums way back on 1/1/2004. Hardly seems that long in retrospect. As always I'd like to thank Pete for keeping the forums and site up for this long and to everyone here too as I made a lot of good friends over the years. :friends:

I'll be here today as is tradition for me. Probably will post more on my UFO2:ET (still) ongoing play through. :)

Two decades is a remarkable milestone indeed, Zombie! :drinks:

As far as I'm concerned, it has been a privilege to time travel with you and all the others here at SC for at least some part of that way.

To borrow a famed passage from a revered sci-fi TV series: These are our voyages. Our mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations (with generally disastrous and unintended consequences :P).

And, just enjoying the many wondrous things games of all kinds and gaming-related technology have offered - and continue to offer - us throughout the years.

Where might the final frontier be? We shall endeavour to find out!

And now it's 21 years since joining this website. :thanks:

Was a lot of fun this year... laughed a lot, cried a little, and learned a lot in the process. :sarcastic:

I'll be around tomorrow again. Nothing going on this new year's day, except for maybe a beer or two. :drinks:

Nothing wrong with hoping for the best, SV. But better be somewhat prepared for the occasional disappointment here and there.

The truth is the only real change we can make is the one that we start in ourselves, like in the song...

"I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could've been any clearer
If they wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change
" - Man in the mirror, Michael Jackson, 1995

Happy 2026 from me, too.

Sadly I succumbed to a virus of some kind, ended up with quite a high temperature and shivered into 2026. The whole ordeal started at Christmas and slowly escalated. And ended just in time to get back to work, dammit. Having such a bad start, I am counting on (in Slovenia) a proverbial good ending of 2026.
