@Thorondor; Yes, I've read some reviews. They seem to agree it's a solid tactics game but a bit repetitive and unfinished as you say. At least it's 50% off but it still some 20$.

Wow, this looks very interesting. Seems like Mech Commander with a different name. I really miss that series. The big question is; will it be RTwP (like Mech Commander 2) or just a click-fest?

I use both those programs and I can run S2 without problems. S3 on the other hand won't start when I re-installed it a while ago and I have run that one before on the same computer, but before SP3. And on older nVidia drivers.

Free titles @ Shrapnel Games. That's a bargain for you. The only title I have played myself and could recommend is Strange Adventures in Infinite Space, but i will surely try Conquest of Elysium II and Big Box of Blox.

IIRC, the Axis mission is to protect Bauer from harm. He is up on 1:st floor in a corner office. A bunch of armed civilians are the nasties. The Allied version is a bit weird, since you can't protect him from being blown up. The objective now is to get the secret weapon. However, the civilians can sneak out from the map, so you need to find it before they escape. Edit; Ehrm, seems like I got the missions mixed up. I found an Allied save and managed to find a clue; "Capture any information on the prisoners relocation". http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/2006/63823491.th.jpg Btw, I play on "Hard" option, so I don't have a clue of what the clue is until I stumble upon them.

I kinda look forward to but also dread Cowboys & Aliens. Have potential to be either a cool flick or a total turkey. Not that I've read rhe comic but the title alone is awesome.

Aah, good to see another one has found this little gem. Aside from the facts that Zombie points out, it really doesn't matter what campaign you start on. The progress is more or less totally random, depending on what clues you get. (Once, I got to the end-game without getting the "Ural Mountains" map, which annoyed me since it's my favourite map.)

Quite some work there, Zombie. Now you got us all wondering about the Axis throwing star...

Here we go again... L.A. I seem to have a thing for female engineers. And she used to be in the movies FFS. Taras is a cool tosser. (Of 'nades that is.) Abala must be among the favourite char's in the game. Especially when he downs an enemy with the first shot. "Very cost effective." Kate as a scout. Besides the female cutthroat approach, I'm appealad to her Indian heritage. Zinaida is a great sniper. Among the soldiers it's harder to pick a favourite, but Ramos tends to be in my squads more often. Not quite sure why.

Motivation? Yeesh. Well, Holly tends to end up in my squad 'cause she's IRA. Not that I sympatize with them but I always found it funny with a Gael among the Huns. Or a female engineer. Ollie. Well, he's a Finn. Medic. Hmm, Dani I guess. She's not quite as annoying as Gari. Carm as scout. Despite "I getta' bigga' Wound Sewing!" she's usually in my team. I guess the idea of a female cutthroat appeals to me. Eagle as Sniper. I like her coolness. My favourite Soldier must be Mike. Cool guy and his "Nice to kill without the paperwork." have brought a smile to my face many times. (He's an ex-cop.)

Medals are nice. They liven up the game somehow. It gives it a whiff of authenticy of some sort. That's "A Small English Town" IIRC. There's four sides if you play Allies too; Your team, the Allies, enemy Axis and Civilians. And more Axis; The "UK Laboratory" there's your team, the enemy Allies, Thor's Hammer and civilians.

T'was a long time since I had one of those, but can't you get ammo for it by placing it in the base inventory and update? My memory can be failing though...

I found 1 Sea Devil when I got that special encounter. I rarely use them but since I hata to throw a good weapon away, I stored it at the base. Later on I got that special encounter again and to my surprise I recovered yet another Sea Devil. These encounters renders a lot of nice loot and experience besides the gun, so I usually go for them.
