October 9, 201510 yr Come on man, these are no feersum aliens. These are ancient gods in new skins.Instead of looking forward, the team is looking back in time. Crap, man.
October 9, 201510 yr As witnessed during the invasion in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the aliens unleashed hordes of Floaters to attack and subdue the human population; however, the aliens quickly found out that humanity did not respond well to the Floater’s horrific marriage of flesh and robotics. Something had to be done. So they went from A. to B. with the Floater/Archon.https://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k490/noxtheroxstar/ex1_zpsklkeildb.pngOk, but why change the Floaters if you're not going to change the Chryssalid? Scary! https://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k490/noxtheroxstar/ex2_zpspjhgulhy.png -NoX
October 10, 201510 yr Gah, I'm definitely firing at the Archon first every time. Just because it is an abomination of designing an alien. Sorry for the negativity. I expected better aliens, but practically everything we see is more and more human. IMO, crap.
October 16, 201510 yr Author :: PC Gamer's Phil Savage has word about just how big a deal modding is going to be in XCOM 2 given the tools that are to be at modders' disposal, as reported here.
October 16, 201510 yr I expected better aliens, but practically everything we see is more and more human. IMO, crap. Ymm they said on the start that the aliens will be more human because of the invasion thing.

Right, because this looks more human? Random people, who appear human and suddenly become "Clayface". Surely that wouldn't upset the sheep. But apparently the Archons somehow appease the people, but turning into "a one story building, with the ability to get into places they shouldn't." makes sense... right.
October 30, 201510 yr Author :: Commander, expect Dark Events. Access the brief regarding these nefarious Advent counters in XCOM 2 here.
November 4, 201510 yr Author :: Fall in line and get to know why things look the way they do in XCOM 2 here.
November 4, 201510 yr Meh, shock and awe... Ok. But I want ALIEN. Like, not having two legs and arms (at least not so prevailing) or not looking like a part of human. The XCOM Cryssalids are cool and actually a step away from "standard" shape.
November 4, 201510 yr No mention about familiarity of advent and Marsec armour from Apocaylpse, some will be mad.... The XCOM Cryssalids are cool and actually a step away from "standard" shape. Mutons from original were human like and I don't see you complaining about them Etherals also were human like only more skinny.
November 5, 201510 yr Mutons from original were human like and I don't see you complaining about them Etherals also were human like only more skinny. And Sectoids. And ignoring the anti-grav unit on the bottom, the Floater is humanoid as well. Really, it's the "Star Trek Syndrome" where basically every alien you encounter in the known universe is humanoid. Kinda baffles the mind why every stinking life form which has evolved separate from one another looks the same. Just be glad there isn't Easter Bunnies planned SV. - Zombie
November 5, 201510 yr He he he, true... I'm willing to accept that human form is one of the likely routes of development of life. But to see it that prevailing is (IMO) lack of imagination. Ok, I guess the intentionally humanoid shapes of engineered beings can find rationalle, though I hate it nevertheless. @Silencer: it is without use to complain about designs decades old. Perhaps it is useless to complain about the new ones, too, but I'll still be doing it!
November 5, 201510 yr Anthropoid form is quite versatile, and it is easy for other to accept such shape of other being.
November 5, 201510 yr Author :: Out of the way! Andromedon coming through to XCOM 2 as detailed here.
November 5, 201510 yr And Sectoids. And ignoring the anti-grav unit on the bottom, the Floater is humanoid as well. Mutons from original were human like and I don't see you complaining about them Etherals also were human like only more skinny. Which is easily explained by the age of the technology. Older variations of the aliens progressed as new technology advanced, whether it's in cinema or gaming. Case in point.Older technology.https://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k490/noxtheroxstar/MiniCrew.pngNewer but still older technology.https://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k490/noxtheroxstar/TerrorCrew.pngNotice how the aliens are becoming more diverse? And yet again, even newer methods.https://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k490/noxtheroxstar/APOC%20Crew_zpslqla3whh.png You could use the same analogy with the Star Trek aliens, except for the Tribbles, ok? They are the exception. FYI, technically since XCOM's (SPOILER) ending was aboard an alien spaceship and not on the Mars base on Cydonia as in the original, it would seem to make sense there never was a space colony on Mars....nor would Mars Security (Marsec) ever come to existence. That's just my take on it. -NoX
November 6, 201510 yr You could use the same analogy with the Star Trek aliens, except for the Tribbles, ok? They are the exception. The Horta is another non-humanoid alien, though it mirrors the Silacoid, so yeah. In fact, I think the Horta/Silacoid is a true alien as it's a silicon-based lifeform instead of the cookie cutter carbon-based junk. - Zombie
November 6, 201510 yr :: Out of the way! Andromedon coming through to XCOM 2 as detailed here. Well since they are all under Take 2, they probably have the right to clone Big Daddy from Bioshock.... this time I will say LAME!
November 6, 201510 yr Yeah, definitely a big daddy homage, but I wouldn't call it entirely a rip off. It kind of reminds me of a cross between a Big daddy and the Desolator from C&C Red Alert 2. https://cnc.wikia.com...r_(Red_Alert_2)"There goes the neighborhood" -NoX
