Ah, I see, you meant "Blizzard would disagree with you", ok.

  • Nope! That took a bit of a jump!   Conquest and Blindside were already successful, I remember, but I think they deserve to be watched, the games should be good.

The invasion really is on, as the developers at Antonym of Time Games seek to fund the four titles of their Strategy Collection:

Help us fund four strategy titles under development in a single project: Archmagus, Zombie Earth, The Invasion, and Xenostar.

We've come here to present a set of four turn based games of strategic and tactical decision-making being developed for the Windows PC with an emphasis on a strong single player experience and replay value. Archmagus casts you in the role of a warlock gathering your powers, training apprentices, cultivating your civilization and raising armies as you compete with your rivals for world domination. The Invasion is a reverse-spiritual-successor to the X-Com tactical games, placing you in the role of the alien commander sent to colonize the Earth and finding it to have a native and advanced civilization you must now conquer. Xenostar is a space conquest game in which you research technologies, configure ships, exploit resources and wage war in tactical fleet battles – but also featuring meaningful diplomacy and collaboration with your rivals. Zombie Earth is a tactical survival horror game that places you at the end of civilization when the dead rise and order breaks down, leaving you to gather survivors, scavenge for supplies, and make the tough decisions as you confront the zombie apocalypse.

0 A.D. - Empires Ascendant

(...) is a free, open-source, cross-platform, real-time strategy game of ancient warfare.

To break it down (and get rid of a lot of hyphens!), the game is similar to the classic games in the Age of Empires series and is completely free to download and play.

0 A.D. is not only completely gratis, but its codebase is freely available under the GPL and its art and music are licensed under CC BY-SA. It's free to distribute and mod. This means there is no DRM.

The game is set in the ancient world, from 500 B.C. to 1 B.C. You build a town from scratch by gathering resources and constructing buildings and training citizens. Your goal is to conquer your enemies, or to convert them to your side.

Legions of Steel: The Video Game is a "classic science-fiction, turn-based miniatures wargame".

(...) 1 vs 1 tactical game with a different map for each scenario. It plays very much like other typical games of the genre with movement points allotted to each combatant and dice rolls to resolve combat.

Players will be able to hone their skills by playing against the AI as a single player—choosing to be either the Humans or the Machines. Single player missions will include a fully realized campaign with an advancing storyline, as well as one-off missions that bring out new types of gameplay and cover every mission type in Legions of Steel.

And of course, Legions of Steel will include player versus player. At its heart, LOS is a duel between competing commanders. And now, even if you can't be in the same room as your opponent, you will still be able to enjoy the game because all game scenarios will be available for asynchronous online play.

It's quite funny. A trailer for AMD featuring Star Citizen, which is built on CryEngine3, which is optimized for NVidia cards.

Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadsville

It's Sim City meets The Walking Dead: the newest game in the post-apocalyptic strategy series Rebuild.

Rebuild is a strategy sim game, a little like Sim City or The Sims, with a bit of Choose Your Own Adventure and a heap of dark humor. It's a thoughtful, slow-paced game that will make you fond of your survivors before you have to send them to their deaths. You'll manage food, morale and supplies while fending off illness, wild dogs, crazy cults and raiders. And the dead are still out there wandering the streets, hungrier than ever.

Light - A 2D Tactical Stealth Game

Light is a 2D top-down game where you'll see yourself sneaking around restless guards.

Hack terminals to modify the environment to your advantage and get closer to your target.

Opponents can be stunned or killed and dragged around. Unhidden bodies and blood trails attract guard reinforcements; sneak past guards and cameras or attempt to take out everyone without being caught.

Make one false move in Light and the alarm will be raised, then all you'll be left with three-shots-to-freedom.
