silencer_pl
The conquest must go on and so another province falls. And that makes Shogun even more on the edge. With other clans to follow him soon. Next our army arrives at province controlled by some rebels. They even left some open gates for us. And that gave our archers some advantage. Hattori also full of enemies, propose military alliance. I know that it won't last forever but at least we should have some support. Also we got a mission to bribe some army units... well first my metsuke agents are far on the west, second I don't need reduced cost on their actions. Currently our invasion force is unstoppable. But the closer to Kyoto, the more fortified the land is. We are really close to Kyoto now, and we've reached the pinnacle of this conflict. A realm divide has been issued. That means whoever hated us but didn't care about it, will now support the current shogun, and the allies will soon follow others. So it now is official TOTAL WAR. But worry not - our samurais are more then able to handle most situations. And fresh army is prepared to assault the Sikoku island. So it's realm divide time, which means half of the campaign is behind us. Let's take a peek at our clan. It's turn 53, we control 19 provinces out of 60. We need yet to capture Kyoto and 20 more provinces to win the campaign. Also every clan except Hattori is out there to get us. Here are some statistics and a map of our provinces. Looks like half of the Japan is under our control. Our victory ratio is almost perfect. Our family tree doesn't look that great, but currently we have more generals that we are able to must armies. On a side part, once per few turns some Portuguese merchants come across Japan waters. It would very nice if I would be able to capture their ship But unfortunately boarding this ship mostly comes to destruction of my own because of the freaking cannons. And if I even manage to use those bow kobayas and fire arrows it mostly goes sunk. Also closing near Kyoto we will be victims of enemy Ninja agents. This men was lucky enough to be just injured. But the army was near of capturing a province. I guess I will need to train ninjas of my own. But still the conquest must go on.
silencer_pl
Finally Kyoto is so close. But you can't just barge into Kyoto just like that. It requires some careful planing, like for example weakening them first. And using some tactics to your advantage. Watching the following situations on slow motion would create a beautiful video. But I am no artist. We did lose half the men, but after we turns we should recover and so do they. But at least it will not be 3:1 situation. Meanwhile general or not, the army still proceeds with invasion, after unsuccessful ninja mission. The ninjas in this region will be probably annoying till the end of campaign. Also we have a chance to pump up even more powerful samurai warriors. And this is the place where we probably stay for a while. Not worries we have plenty of time to prepare. First a new general must arrive. But because I am not that patient I've sent clans Heir to lead the attack. This army has too much archer units but too bad I failed to keep the samurai archer unit alive. Since we can't rush on Kyoto, other provinces are picked for the taking. And Shimazu Daimyo again rises in power. Let's don't forget that there are some naval battles too, and with so many enemies, there are plenty battles. Because ninjas are not enough they even employ monks to stop us. Ok we have now the ability to build the biggest farms it's time to invest some research in ninja ways. Oh and look Hommo decides to bring an army using a fleet. Well, I can only say: "You shall not pass". After a while I've come to an idea. I don't need to hurry, I can wait and make them starve or attack me. So I've made order to siege the Kyoto and wait. But Imagawa are holding quite a nice army just slightly to the east, which may foil the plan. But the Ashikaga shogunate thinks he can break the siege. Not a smart choice. But at least they died with honor. So now instead of fighting whole army, we just need to kill few samurais. So Kyoto is ours now. The primary target of campaign is under Shimazu control, we just need to hold on for 4 turns. And also our merchants will improve our prosperity again. Even with Kyoto under our control we still need more provinces. And here comes the Imagawa force. Pretty bold one too. And after Imagawa comes Hojo.... That was very tense battle. But Kyoto has the best roads, and being a citadel means the lost soldiers will be back in just few turns. And of course it was just a matter of time. silencer_pl
New tech gained, just few more to be able to recruit famous Geisha unit. The question is can we afford the building, as our economy is very stretched. Since Hattori decided to break the alliance, we have to punish them. And clan Daimyo has the fend of large army of Imagawa clan. Our merchants try hard to improve prosperity of our land. We can't stop attacking, and they keep sending troops. It will be hard time making progress further away from Kyoto. But as long our armies can march forward, there is still hope. It's been a year since we hold Kyoto. Now the Emperor can do only one thing. Name our Daimyo Shogun. Being a Shougn brings many great things. Like this ship - only available to Shougn. And this cavalry unit. Many peasants now want to join our victorious forces. However there still things to do. Enemies are many. But we push them back to the rock from which they crawled under. Our army gets stronger and stronger. And our sages refine our culture. Our navy protects the sea. The army lays waste to the enemy. Our people are working hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdbF1JNS2vs Our monks bring peace to mind.

silencer_pl
Shogun or not, we still need to have 2/3 of Japan under our control. And Takeda clan thinks, he can take Kyoto from under our noses. Since I've caught him doing the siege ( I don't know why he wanted to wait), we will be receiving additional reinforcements from the citadel. And that means we can control a special unit Onna BushiA dedicated for defense unit made with only samurai women. With all the DLC's this not the only women made unit in the game, but with current affairs I'll probably never have the chance to use it.Since the units from stronghold always replenish after battle I did use them more as a meatshiled. Mostly because they've attacked from the rear, and the main army had a long trek to get to the action. The few survivors was immediately hunted down. Kyoto rate of reinforcements is unbelievable, and we catch Imagawa trying again to capture Kyoto. Our defensive work near Kyoto is never done. The AI is attacking relentlessly. I've fluffed up something in this battle. Probably tired of so many attacks. Meanwhile our third army attacks Chosokabe clan on Sikoku island. And some archers were separated from our Daimyo army just to capture this province.
silencer_pl
The attack of Chosokabe clan goes without any problems. During this siege. The AI decides to send lone Onna Bushi unit against my Samurais. It's like choosing to attack a Key with a Keyhole if you catch my meaning. A counter charge made short work of them ladies. On the main land Takeda running out of generals decides to capture this stronghold. With so many archers only few manages to climb the walls. Also after my great crusades against AIs ninjas, they've send a pack of Metsuke units to deal with my ninjas. This one is lucky to just be imprisoned. After heroic defense Yoshihiro advances forward and claims another province under our control. And our Daimyo takes land from Hattori clan. But no matter how many we kill them, they always come back in numbers. It's like they have some cloning machine. No matter what, the path only leads forward. Again I've failed hard. Set the speed to maximum and didn't realize the unit being under attack from tower With that assault Shimazu Daimyo reaches the maximum level. Meanwhile in Sikoku another Christian rebelion.... - religion of peace my ass. This can't be tolerated and immediate counter attack is made. We also take another province from Takeda hands. With style we rushed towards the stronghold, although many survived the capture they were hunted down and executed. Speaking of Takeda they make another approach for Kyoto. It's like never ending story. Hunt down the survivors. And someone was cocky enough to build the best building for horse units. No matter. Chosokabe is almost wiped out. silencer_pl
Taked with some Imagawa help took the province near Kyoto. Time to take it back. We also take province from Hojo. Looks like I am making more and more mistakes. I have province not far away to produce replacements though. The Omi province looks like is the new battling ground. Almost lost that samurai unit. But as long there are enough men, they can go back to Kyoto and replenish loses. Pushing alongside the northern pass, we wipe out more Takeda units. This time Imagawa send a large force and Daimyo is somewhere else, guess one ninja unit will have to stop them long enough for him to arrive. Because he needs to capture more province. And deal with more clones. On the north Taked loses another province. After few turns it's time to take back what was lost. And deal with the perpetrator. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-wJpPegmtSFc/UiMQxdtZrnI/AAAAAAAAMfY/_V9wXZc7xkM/s0/346.jpg' alt='346.jpg'> Our number of provinces has almost reached the desired limit. But for god sake how they are able to create so many armies so fast. No matter as we push on. And we wipe out the Chosokabe clan, securing Sikoku island. With that last attack we just need to take back that province. And all will bow down before the mighty Shimazu clan. And looks like I didn't have to worry about time. Turn 80 out of I think 150. Space Voyager
Emperor Silencer, now is the time to up the ante with vh/vh and add some modding. This was no test of your strategic and tactical skills. Have you lost a single battle?
silencer_pl
Not Emperor. Emperor is someone else in Feudal Japan. Emperor lost his power long before Sengoku period. In those time only Shogun had real power. I've lost only those battles where my forces where absent - meaning few provinces either to the rebels or other clans. And if you look closely at the last picture you will see whole stats for the campaign. But I think retreating to safer position also counts as defeat. Remember in strategy you want the enemy come to you and fight on your own playground. I'll probably wont come back to Shogun either to Rise or Fall of Samurai. I have to finish my medieval campaign which is half done - must find time to post some. And I am preparing for some Spartan actions.
