January 30, 201115 yr I was wondering what affect fire damage from say an auto cannon has on the equipment inside a ufo Early in the if the first red shirt rookie steps inside the medium ufo and get killed I was thinking about shooting from outside reaction range with an autocannon or heavy cannon through the open door. Not an easy shot I know but will this destroy the valuable loot
January 30, 201115 yr Fire doesn't damage equipment, so using incendiary autocannon rounds is a viable method of defeating enemies and keeping equipment intact. Just mind the weird fire damage modeling. - NKF
January 30, 201115 yr IN does damage terrain though, right? (Eg, a UFO power supply.) To be honest I've very seldom used it.

January 31, 201115 yr Author i loved using fire weapons in xcom apoc at choke points since they did not destroy loot so i thought i try it here xcom fire damage is weird though Someone want to try it in game see what happens. I dont have xcom currently installed but i'm going back to it
