Thorondor Posted June 5, 2016 Report Share Posted June 5, 2016 https://i.matak.net/title.jpg The good folks over at the Populous: Reincarnated site, a place where one can still enjoy Populous: The Beginning by means of a multiplayer matchmaking service, have sent word as follows: We allow people to create their own maps, we have a working leagues table based on Trueskill and soon we will release an updated version of the game with improved graphics and lots of bugfixes / compatibility solutions. On top of that we designed a new "game mode" called "Shaman Arena" where the players only control a shaman with only a limited ammount of available spells where they have to kill other players' shamans in an "arena" shaped map (for now we will start with just 1 win condition for this mode; every player gets 10 lives last man standing wins). This new game mode will get more features in time once the new version of the game is released. Our website will also get a complete overhaul soon, and we even have plans to release a full conversion of the game, perhaps new expansion packs with new singleplayer campaigns and multiplayer maps. :: Ambitious plans, no doubt, and very nice news for fans of such a classic game. Both modes are connected and achievements of one mode will affect the other one. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic scenario and narrate an immersive story. The game includes a feature-rich crafting part which enables players to construct, modify and create mechs, creeps, weapons and equipment and use them in single and multiplayer. :: Pre-alpha demo available for download at the official site here.
