I am a card carrying member of the Tony Hancock Appreciation Society. I first liked Hancock's Half Hour when I saw the episode "The Economy Drive" on television in 1986. That bit where Sid James was pacing up and down and complaining about the austerity measures imposed by Hancock (milk that is three parts water, stale bread, going to bed as soon as it's dark, etc) and Hancock relies "Don't walk up and down, it wears the carpet out."

Slaughter may be interested to know that they remade Hancock's Half Hour in Norwegian, and the Norweigan Hancock was considered to be quintessantly Norweigan.

The next poster thinks the BBC should show Hancock episodes more often.
