hehehe! its happened to me but in the reverse order, i land at a small scout and at the beginning of the mission i move three troops out of the skyranger and line them up at the base of the skyrangers ramp. when i move my last soldier out, i place him at the right side of the skyranger next to the other soldier who stands to the right of the third soldier. at the exact moment i place the soldier to the right, three plasma shots come flying from the right, bom my

Interesting discussion, but since i play UFO so very little i don't think i have much to participate with. I only hire them and never look at their stats, i mean, if they have the lowest accuracy ever then they are bound to soon die a gruesome and horrible death. That is the way i keep my squad elite, only those who survive are the ones with high stats. If a low stats soldier die, i hire a new soldier, if that one die, i hire a new one until my squad only have the best of the best, or at least, the most normal of the most normal.

civvies, no doubt, once i had 5 civvies running around in a circle for over 10 turns, at the 11 turn, a alien threw a nade in the middle of the screaming and panicking civilians. boom! i got a minus score on that mission. Thats why i say civvies.

i voted for aimed shots because my friends older brother who often played x-com when he was younger, says that aimed shots increase the soldiers accuracy, its like a firing range, if u shoot with aimed more, the better a soldiers accuracy gets. ex: lets say johnny has 67 in accuracy. he uses aimed once and hits and his accuracy goes up to 68. i dont know if this is true but my friends brother says it is. correct me if im wrong oh you godly x-com players!

I really tried to play Apoc but it was too damn wierd for me, " what does this button do? " I frequently asked myself, and one more thing, how the F**K do u get to fight the goddamn aliens? I always flew and shot the damn UFOs down but never got to fight the little buggers.

Actually in Israel women is regular soldiers but when they tried it out in some wars they noticed that the men would be overprotective and risk their own lifes for the womens and they soon came to the conclusion that women dont really belong in combat situations.

Well... i dont really know bout it if its DOS version but in the CD version of the game all you need to do in XP to get the game to work is go to hardware acceleration and lower the bar to zip. And set compability mode on the exe to the game to "in compability mode for win95" hope it will work on your DOS version........ or........ if you really want to get ufo..... PM me.......

As soon as i get blasterlauncher i equip half of my men with blaster launchers and then blast the map even if its a terror mission. works well. the aliens die and acctually all of the civvies doesnt die...

Lol only one quarter? that makes it much more easy. i ahve never really finished the game... only by downloading a cheat editor and maxing all of my men and then crushing the aliens at Cydonia... im really trying to complete the game but its not working. any1 got any hints???

I think its cool that they make an X-COM movie but this Christian thingy it doesnt really work with alien thingy. cuz christian beliefs is like " oh, we are the only ones and the earth is the center of the universe cuz gawd made it" so i really dont get it. :devil:

I first discovered X-COM when i was 7 years old (im 15 now)my friends brothers brought home a game that they started playing instantly on their 486. At first i didnt pay much antention to it, but my friend got hooked, or to say, his brothers, it was they who played, and we minors sat around the screen watching breathlesly when his brother assaulted the big battleship or killin some chryssalids on a terror mission. Boy was i scared of going home in the dark after sitting watching his brothers play. It wasnt untill i was about 8 years old that i and my friend in secret started to play the forbidden game (his brothers had said that we was not to touch the computer) X-COM. After awhile even we little kids got acces to the computer when we got to the age of 10. We had by then tired of playing X-COM cuz we couldnt kill all the brain and finish the game. It wasnt until i was 14 that i saw the game in a bargain bin with games that i bought it. I remembered the nights of watching X-COM, and i got a strong feeling of havin to play the game again. At the time we had an old computer with win 95 on it so i could play the game. But we bought a new computer as a birthday gift to me, and the old comp was thrown away without asking me about it. So here i am with a new comp that has Windows xp ( u cant play X-COM on win xp, win xp has no DOS) and no way to play the superb game, is there any1 out there who can tell me how i can play X-COM on win xp? Thx for your time.

I say, stuff the Skyranger, or the avenger, full of rookies with lasers, send them into combat, except for two who stay in the ship, and only retreat when the guys outsides dead. Dont car much bout the rookies, and no rookie ever live long enough to become higher rank then squaddies

i 'have acctually never used grenades, and im sorry to say that i i never will... because i have windows XP and u cant play X-com UFO enemy unknown in windows xp, is there any1 who can help me on this???
