  1. I don't understand you English people. My good friend Mike and I, being Northern Irish and living in the NE of England find you all baffling and we point and laugh at you behind your backs
  2. 1280x1024. Native resolution of my iiyama LCD monitor.
  3. andrew [dot] mckendry [at] gmail [dot] com That'll be the ticket! Anyhoo, back to revision. I hate revision *whinge*
  4. DH has an MSN address? I'll ask him on ICQ when I get back to uni
  5. Did you have Hyperwave Decoders at the time? I've managed to have mine miss Battleships landing at the base and the first alert I get is one saying my base is under attack. It's possible that you detected the "Very Small" craft heading for your base, but it was a battleship that did the actual raid. How radars can miss an object the size of a large mansion and estate baffles me really.
  6. Aye, that's what I mean, Battleships cant initiate Terror Sites. Battleships can do anything else if you piss them off enough!
  7. Sorry, my hopes aren't at E3 for anything interesting this year... Bar the PS3, C&C3 and pretty much everything else!
  8. Oh! I read a review on that one in a computer game magazine! it also got a score of 1 and was in the "disasters" section of the magazine (dedicated to games with a score lower than 3). It certainly sounded like a piece of crap. Did you actually play this? Yup, was 29p in a Bargain bin in a local store years ago. I had read the review and just had to play! Dear god. Took me about 3 hours to get it to work in the first place!
  9. Extreme Paintbrawl. You whinge about these games. Seriously, Extreme Paintbrawl will redefine your classification of a bad game. Do a google search, or better yet, look at the review on IGN. I dare you. (It was the only game on IGN to get a score of less than 1)
  10. I'm not overly surprised that its the developer that holds the hardcore games in highest regard, as they're the ones with the most experience of the group. It's attitudes like the marketing guy that make a series like X-Com dissapear into the ether.
  11. I just played Grim Fandango again. Brilliant game!
  12. Losing is tough ain't it? The PSX losing movie makes it all the more terrible too. NKF's challenge is a bugger, I gave up
  13. In your version? What version is that?
  14. But Sid doesn't do this kind of stuff. He does historical, epic, over-time things. I'm doubtful sid would be involved.
  15. I know this reply is late, but can I tell you that you missed April Fools day by 2 weeks on your first post and 3 days on your last. 1 - Battleships dont do Terror Missions 2 - Only one species plus associated terrorist species attack at a Terror site.
  16. Nah. Would be highly suprised at anything of the sort. One of the X-Com sites such as here, XCommand and XCOMufo would have heard even whispers of rumours before now. Unless this is a whisper of a rumour. As much as I'd like to see Alliance, DH did a good job of ending XCAS, so the Alliance Storyline has been set in my head since then
  17. Alternatively, get the CE edition on eBay - its what I did and its much easier than fiddling round with slowdown utilities or old PCs.
  18. Morning guys and gals. Just wondering if someone has a backup copy of all the stories from XCAS. I'd like to read through them at some point, and the old backups at angelfire are quite a bit out of date. Cheers!
  19. Lol, I was wondering who was approving them! I might as well upload them all now. It's taking a while on this dammed 512k connection.
  20. Oh, and question, why does everyone forget that UFO went by a third name? Namely: X-Com Enemy Unknown (with the dash), which was the name the Playstation version went by (and in my opinion, is the best of the three names )
  21. I've started uploading the .mp3 music from the PSX version of Enemy Unknown. As the files are large, and I keep forgetting, I'll upload them in batches. Just a shout to let you guys know There are 12 tracks in total.
  22. S-2 Firestar fan here! 2x Phase Cannons 2x TTCs 2x Permeator Missile Launchers 1x SS Missile Launcher VCT, Damage Control Computer Why a Firestar? Harder than the pissy wee Lightning, but has the manuverability and, more importantly, speed that I desire over the Super-Avenger.
  23. Just to note I've tidied up the X-Com Apoc article on Wikipedia (not the X-Com Wiki) - the Interceptor article needs finished too. Oh, and the mind shield and Hyper Wave Decoder pics are the wrong way round
  24. Other than panicing the aliens, is there anything else this does? I've never been able to mind control them like they do us. Anyone done more?
