  1. the aliens were nice enough to build a muton alien base (i actually could not stop them 6 ufos in a very small space of time), athough supply ships are the primary target i plan to make a few raids, gather experience , weapons and Elerium i wanted to ask what the storage rooms with power units look like, are they the same as the on ufos
  2. yeah i wont bother trying to fix it , i killed the brain , watched the ending movie, I'm good is that actually an official ending about mars thats good, did seem a bit weird , just BOOM my guys are all dead would have been nice to show my guys escaping like in the end of Return of the jedi with the Milenium Falcon escaping the exploding death star , they need to work on their intro (they got jane! lol) and conclusion movies
  3. I'm on the final mission and i seem to have a glitch Using guns and explosives i blasted a short cut to the brain room i slaughtered the few guards and then unleashed a hellstorm upon the monster brain eye Until at last, I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside. end turn, game finished beers all around clapping and cheering.........or not next turn ok maybe i have to destroy the brain eye thing AND all the surrounding equipment and fleshy parts Earth shattering Kamboom ! ok now everything in this room has been vanquished .....end turn... OHH COME ON THIS IS CRAP so i've blown up everything in the brain room and the mission still does not end. There is still a lot of enemies alive since i took a explosive short cut but most players would expect the mission to end once the brain has been destroyed . is this a glitch or do you have to kill the brain and the aliens It was not even very clear what you were meant to kill in the brain room, it should have been flagged as an 'enemy spotted' type thing I watched the end movie in the game folder, Spoiler wait did my guys all get killed like in Xcom terror from the deep end movie. Xcom enemy unknown had better intro and end movies
  4. Dealing with Destroyers I having a problem dealing with these walking terminators I’ve just come across Since the aliens see further than me I usually get shot first and their ion either kills or cripples the target While there is some cover in the game letting me hide and seek ,pop out shoot and duck back tree clumps are usually useless Killing them is also a bit of a problem. While flame rockets do work these are not the perfect weapons being slow and cumbersome. Heavy laser do work but if I don’t kill in the 3 auto shot, usually they will shot back and kill or cripple me.Plasma cannon though expensive do have the benefit of killing in one shot. I have not got the chance to get ion yet by getting a commander though I am planning on it I could change the alien vs my sight range but that’s cheating a bit. I am glad Bman mod adds a virtual Hyper-wave Decoder Having my troopers equipped plasma cannons to deal with basic alien cause there might be destroyers was just silly Tactics hit or tips to deal ? p.s. i just found the portable teleporter in my last mission. Combine with stun rod lots of fun
  5. I'm currently attacking my second alien base which I discovered but the mind control is kicking my ass All of my squad has ‘very good’ psy skill but get controlled in one shot. I have 4 of the large mind control guns . But my sniper guys who are usually controlled are faster and shoot someone before I can get him back. I usually cant kill the mind control alien before at least someone gets shot Another problem is the mind controlled members vanishes from sight , even though I should be able to see him. Which gives them extra time to bring the pain. I have the psicover armour which gives 100% protection from exception and paralyse would that help I am considering having everyone carry a short range weapon , dropping the short range weapon at the start of the mission. Then relying upon the 4 guys with mind control guns and having the other 3 with medic kits to support them . The part 1 surface section is a horrible place to fight. The 2nd part inner section is fine because I kill the aliens with short range death weapons before they can control me Another question If take control an alien with who has the mind control gun, can I use him to take over another alien, that would be wierd last point is there anything special you can do to detect alien bases

i loved using fire weapons in xcom apoc at choke points since they did not destroy loot so i thought i try it here xcom fire damage is weird though Someone want to try it in game see what happens. I dont have xcom currently installed but i'm going back to it

I was wondering what affect fire damage from say an auto cannon has on the equipment inside a ufo Early in the if the first red shirt rookie steps inside the medium ufo and get killed I was thinking about shooting from outside reaction range with an autocannon or heavy cannon through the open door. Not an easy shot I know but will this destroy the valuable loot
  8. First I'm glad i started playing Aftermath even though i completed Afterlight. Wow its a very different game lots of terrian and use of cover. Feels like an xcom terror mission My questions 2 part missions: lost loot? it 2 part missions such as capturing a new human base. If you don't collect the enemy loot from the bodies does this get lost Or is it included once you complete the second part I was not sure so i grabbed the loot on the first mission section then dropped it upon entering the second part If the loot is saved i was considering taking some assault and sniper rifles to clear the outside of the base and then dropping then before going into the second part. Does anything bad happen or do i just automatically recover my weapons this may have been asked else where but the phrasing made it hard to search for also had a quick question regarding a good ratio of base types still pretty early in the game I currently have 3 1 military 1 development and 1 base i'm converting to science research and i'm about to get my 4th base The seems to be a ton of research needed, ufos a hard to shoot down down so i need military but i will need some production for all the guns and armour I'm in europe playing on easy with the combo patch on if that changes things So what do the members find to be a good ratio
  9. I been reading through the Lets play xcom stories by Guava Moment http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/index.php?sa...nt&search=1 They paint such a vivid picture tying in elements of all the xcom games and including some great plot twists Dam they really deserve a prize for this its that good I wanted more xcom fanfiction which is A. High quality B. Complete Since generally a lot of fanfiction is A. Horrible quality B. Incomplete because the author was lazy /bored So that
