  1. As Draco finished up quickly Viktor kept watching her as she made her way down the corridor...he didn't have that good a feeling about her...as if she was very closed and uptight...but what she'd really turn out to be like would be shown later a lot better when they would be fighting together in the field. He sighed slightly and resumed walking down the hallway. Nonetheless the sergeant was right and it would be about time that he reviews the squad roster that he was assigned to. He knew about what he could expect too since he hasn't exactly been a pleasing presence to his superiors. Quite possibly they would assign him a newly formed squad with little experience so as he would supervise and supply it, thus being busy taking care of his subordinates as opposed to being busy questioning his superiors' orders. With these thoughts he produced his holopad from his hip pocket and accesed the roster. Pretty much to his expectations there was not a single corporal in the team and two of the members had never even seen actual combat. Nonetheless the squad seemed to be made up of positions that he was quite used to dealing with so at least in that aspect he wasn't deprived. One primary scout with two secondary ones along with a sniper team if he so requested and a psionisist which was useful in either long-range operations or covert ones. Along with the other additional positions he could definately say that this squad was overall very suitable for open terrain medium firefights or covert operations if it was needed. He also checked their schedule for today and noticed that a great majority of them would be at the crash course right now, the same place where his XO was heading towards. It seemed pretty obvious to him now that he'd best head there himself so as he introduces himself and gets things off to a good start BEFORE he acts on his sergeant XO's advice. He turned around on one foot and after placing his pad in his pocket he began making his way towards his destination. <<Okay. Now remember the ones that haven't posted yet don't have to be in the crash course too. If you want to you can come, but if not then that's okay too. >>
  2. <<Allrighty then! This topic is the first ever active forum roleplay thread of XCGS and has a specific setting for our simmers. All of your characters are to be stationed aboard the orbital military station called Charon. This station is located somewhere in the Frontier over a colonized planet and has all the military training equipment for both ground personnel and pilots alike. There are even a few scientists and engineers around. Post your characters aboard this paticular station and let your imagination run wild. They'll probably be practicing their weapons skills, flying skills, chattering between themselves in the mess hall about the discovery that Earth has been enslaved by the aliens,...ect. You decide. You can also post that two of your characters meet each other and practice interacting between each other here. For example Harris meets Neos accidentally in the station and the two strike up a conversation. There's just one thing. None of you would know Oskari (my character), but he will be around as well so you might bump into him in the halls. Otherwise that's it! Let's get it on!>> September 29th, 2085 - X-Com Frontier military station Charon Viktor was just now in the armoury, examining one of the plasma rifles for any flaws. He quickly, skillfully, yet with care handled the weapon checking its surface features and looking down the barrel briefly after shining a small light through it. He then proceeded to take a clip from a table nearby and with a swift quick motion inserted it into the weapon, making a snappy click sound and afterwards a low humming noise as the plasma charges inside moved into the barrel's proper position. Turning around he quickly tapped a button at the side, thereby arming the rifle, and after crouching fired a single bolt down the firing range. After the impact and the sizzling noise of the bullet's residue he slowly got up from his position and thought to himself. Hmmm.....aim isn't quite what it used to be with me. Then again it wouldn't surprise him since this usually occured when he lacked motivation. And right now the mission he was being sent to definately didn't seem too inspiring. He turned to the figure next to him. "I'd say these are in good and working order. The sights may be a bit low but so is my aim today. Well done and keep up the good work." "AFFIRMATIVE" was the mechanical voice that came from the android that was sent here from engineering to listen and also swiftly comply with any of Viktor's requests on the weapons. Viktor now began making his way out of the testing range and into the corridors of the base, still not too accustomed to the latest series of production and managment engineering androids that were in and around the base. The whole benefit of an android constructing a weapon was that it had the ability to construct it almost without any flaw. However occasional, though very rare, tests were still needed since even robots aren't perfect. In fact.....this is the first time I've fired off a weapon in the last 6 years. Huh... He wondered to himself how long it would be until he would have to use it on another living being all the way until he almost crashed into an X-Com Sergeant as she made her way around the corner. "Whoops! Pardon me madame." He said in a quick tone and smiling in a gentelman way as he looked at the Sergeant. "It's perfectly allright thank you." she replied neutrally and kept a good distance away from the Lieutenant as he continued onwards: "Hardly when we have such lugs as me knocking people down all the time." he finished up with an open smile, to which the Sergeant replied with a smile of her own, though this one was more of the cynical kind. Viktor managed to spot her tag on her chest which read -Sergeant Shelley Draco- <<Now feel free to drop in with your own storylines or also interact with mine if you'd like. >>

::impersonates Yuri from Red Alert 2:: No comrade. It has only begun!
  6. Actually the term "Starspawn" was used once before by Andre Galvao in "X-Com: The Unknown Menace". However as I have DH's assurances that it wasn't nicked from there I assume yous guys must've subcounsciously started using the term somewhere along the line and it caught on.
  7. Exactly why there won't be a sim this weekend at all. I'll continue writing UFOpaedia entries and so forth, hopefully putting them up on the site too, but as far as the sim goes...nope. Unless people are really interested to respond to this thread (so that we could work SOMETHING out) this week's a no-go.
  8. Well, I mainly stay off of it because of certain RL issues...one of them being me spending my time browsing the internet whilst not really looking for anything in paticular. Anyway,.....over the forum right? Well okay...Though I'm not sure. I can guarantee the next sim status updates by Friday but...that'd be it. Still I might be able to do it sooner. Anyway...I'll remember to post here in the forum too. I can do that BEFORE Friday.

    Tommorow

I can't blame you on that at all Nick. And um...watch that "god forbid" line on social life heh...don't want to make enemies so damn soon. j/k

    Tommorow

As it was there was no sim, but I did assign some stuff to people and talked general X-Com and XCGS stuff. The announcement is that unfortunately the starting date may take longer than anticipated as RL is getting down on me, though that would be the only thing really. Practice sims will still be held, but remember to check the main site for an update. I promise to update it regularly now. Recently it's been pretty rough so...I can assure you things will get better now. It's just a matter of writing up the necessary XCGS stuff, updating the site regularly and having the saturday sims.

    Tommorow

Yup. There is indeed a sim TODAY at the standard time 19:00 GMT. Just so that I update the site. Otherwise another practice sim. I'd like as many of you to come if possible since I also have something to say...
  12. Actually I did a bit later on and explained there was no sim. Anyways...I want to make it official that you check ONLY the site update as to when the next sim is. I tend to have a mouth that says something other than what I mean.
  13. Well speak to him about it somewhere else. This thread only for XCGS related art. And expect to hear from me soon Pumpkin. I'm a bit busy right now but I'll get on it as soon as I can.
  14. Both of them look really cool! I'll be sure to consider them for the UFOpaedia in the future, just as soon as we get to that point. Well done!
  15. Yup that's right. It's now decided by a clear majority. Tommorow we have our first test sim. So come on over and check out just how things are going to be done in XCGS.
  16. No problem Ghost. Though everyone should know that...this won't necessarily be the time. It will be somewhere around this time, but it might turn out otherwise. So remember to check the XCGS site to note when the sim is going to be held!
  17. No problemo Shadow. Take your time. I'd rather have a lovely detailed bio that takes some time than a quick botch job that's delivered immediately. Well, but I guess that settles it quite definately. 19:00 GMT it is on this Saturday.
  18. Loonie

    Squaddies?

Actually it really woldn't be. The only question however is the question of taste. That is to say...who'd like it to be squaddie and who'd prefer it to be corporal.....hmmm...might put up a poll about this too before the sim officially starts.
  19. Remember guys...contact info only. And Hoz...with people like you it really is no great wonder...
  20. Okey dokey! With as many as 6 members in the XCGS sim (possibly 7 if I can get a conformation from cyrus) I'd say that this thing's more than ripe for a nice test sim. Now, most of the sims will usually be held on saturdays, BUT obviously the thing is AT WHAT TIME. From my experience in XCAS I have found out that either 19:00 GMT or 20:00 GMT would really work best overall, but I'm open for suggestions as to when YOU - the simmers - would find it most compatible with your own real life obligations. So choose from the answers I have provided you with. 14:00 GMT is the time when I usually can get to the computer (since I sleep quite a bit ) and 23:00 GMT is the absolute maximum limit, since anything PAST that will not bode well for my GMing skills when leading the sim. So choose ya'll. And I promise that I'll take your wishes into account when deciding the time.

    The Goodbye

Indeed. Not to mention that we're just discussing right now how you have a plot to detonate a Nuclear Power plant in the UK. Still...I'm not sure XCGS would quite be your style. But you're welcome to apply if you find it interesting.
  22. Excellent idea indeed! E-Mail: lenartpogacnik@yahoo.co.uk ICQ: 33822050 MSN: Lenart_Pogacnik@hotmail.com
  23. Me notices that Pumpkin was only asking about what simming is. But if you'd REALLY like a detailed explanation of what simming is, why take a look at the XCAS site when I have another simming site that devotes two pages to explaining the concept of simming? Heh,...now...I run the risk of being slapped by the hand for talking about this in THIS paticular room and I do apologize in advance, but I feel the need to explain simming to Pumpkin as well and seeing as how I've spent valuable time to explain it in two pages on my site I think it would be worth for me to give this link away. Click on this link and then click on the next one that's highlighted at the bottom of the page and reads "How to Sim" for all the explanation that I can give you. If you don't feel like reading some of the stuff then just skip forwards to the next title (and question) that you find interesting on those two pages.

    A new X-Com sim

A minor but vital correction! If you do have web-based accounts you can send the application over my usual e-mail address too. Just look at the newly updated "join" page (which just so happens to be the third page of "What is XCGS?")

    A new X-Com sim

Heh, well...that depends if you really feel like joining in Andy. This thing, I promise you, will not be as simple as XCAS. Though I will do my earnest to keep it as simple as it can possibly be.
