I couldn't decide if he was really angry or just being a massive troll.

Remember this guy? He still doesn't like this game. XD

Another gameplay video. It's in German, but I don't think that will stop anyone.

False alarm about the Youtube thing, thankfully. Looks like Youtube itself changes the Top comments from time to time. I apologized on the official forum.

It looks like 2K Games is removing the top rated comments from the Top comments section of the Youtube video (video in first post of this thread). Open up all comments and you'll see some comments with more likes not appearing in the Top comments. I could understand the ones with bad language being taken down, but there are some legitimate ones which are simply negative. I don't like what I'm seeing so I've asked the 2K Games representative for a response on the official forum. Edit by BB: Seems this forum mangles links with exclamation marks in them. Luckily, this link doesn't need one in order to work. I've got a bad feeling about this, so I'm going to quote myself to make sure the contents of the post are preserved - just in case. I hope this isn't what I think it is. Edit: I'm also adding some of the Youtube comments for you to see:

2K Games has just released a new trailer for XCOM as part of its E3 2011 program. The trailer shows off some new enemies and other material. Here's a few more details! from the 2K Games community manager: The game is slated for release on March 6, 2012.

There has GOT to be a law that forbids men to watch that. You shall all be excommunicated from the male gender!

Guys... I think you aren't looking at this from the right perspective. If there are female replicants, there are male replicants. Guess who will be better at you-know-what. I think we need to stop this before women decide they don't need us anymore. We need to say "No to replicants". Who's with me!!! ... Guys?

Howling with fury? Hardly. Lots of people were disappointed, but some are looking forward to it. There was a lot more rage when Fallout 3 was announced. Anyway, the preview makes it sound interesting. Dogfights are an idea I've been entertaining for my imaginary X-COM sequel that will never happen. I'm not sure if it will work though, because it could get tedious as you progress through the game, much like the ground combat got eventually. I think the key here is not to make the game too long, and lots of games fall into this trap these days. I guess we'll see. Cover is a great idea that I've also been entertaining. If properly implemented it could make the battles much more interesting tactically. For example, everyone likes hiding behind walls, but you've often been forced to lose move out of cover if you wanted to shoot an alien. This way you could "peek" out of your cover and shoot with a reduced chance to get hit yourself. Obviously this would work for aliens as well. One area in particular where this would be useful is for snipers. You get your sniper to high ground, move to the edge (e.g. of a building), enter crawling mode and snipe away with reduced chance to get hit. There's plenty of other chances for improvement, but even these two are improvement enough for me. As long as it's properly done of course.

Persistence, persistence, persistence. Persistence is the key to succeeding at something.

IE9 has a new interface making it more like Chrome and it runs in separate processes now. There's a few more additions as well, and it finally conforms quite well to web standards (95 on Acid 3). It's a good browser. I am sticking with FF4, mostly because of Tab Mix Plus (and a few other add-ons). Its functionality is so integral to my web browsing, that switching to another browser feels like a step back. I just wish I could open Private browsing in a new window instead of it being in the same one. While memory consumption is a serious issue, I have plenty of RAM so it's not a problem to me, but I can see why others would hate that. If it weren't for Tab Mix Plus, I would have already switched to Chrome. This way I'm using FF for my main browser and Chrome for Private Browsing.

Is it possible to get Private Browsing in FF to open in a new window?

Firefox 4 is out. So what do you guys think? I like the new interface, now the flash games will once again fit on the screen (for some time at least). I don't know about the speed though, my PC is fast enough these days to not make a huge difference.
  15. Yeah, it doesn't work for me either.
