  1. well its a slow process... but a boring one :lol: im not really giving up on the modding... ive had a little talk with bandures at nival and he promised me that the 1.2 patch fixes the problems i have... and if it does i will surely buy the game... i dont really understand how more than one person could work with a mod for S^2 since you have to have those A5GAME_Log.ldf and A5GAME_Data.mdf files in addition to the game.db files... would it involve sending eachother those files when one is done with the assigned part of the modding? cos in that case i couldnt help you since im on a modem... theres no way in hell im going to be sending any 80meg files to anyone... sorry...
  2. tell you what... ill make a pact with you... if the patch turns out to fix all those problems ive been having ill buy the game and ill buy a 2nd copy for my friend... nice eh? but if the patch dont fix the problems im out of here faster than a nudist at a hammers convention...
  3. well im not going to do any mods for silent storm... because of several reasons: 1. i cant patch my game since i have a pirate copy (yes yes shame on me, but the game isnt sold in sweden and i wont buy the game from abroad without absolute guarantees that it is 100% moddable without these kind of anomalies) 2. im not even playing the game without mods that make it (at least slightly) more historically correct since im sortof a WWII freak 3. i just spent every free time on modding this game during the last four weeks and now i cant use that mod since there is some kind of code freakieness that shouldnt be there in the first place! 4. in short... burnout... ill go play H&D2 or COD instead... oh and i never got all the sounds to work properly, but bandures had some explanation for that... cant remember now since i really dont care no more...
  4. yeah youre probarbly right... when the addon is released i might do a mod... but only if the game is actually sold in sweden...

Once again i have run into the same problems with my new mod that i did in my last... weapons damages changed without me doing anything concerning weapons damage... and since i dont really have the patience or time to start over again, i will not finish this mod or start another... i hope you enjoyed it while it lasted...

  7. thanx for the praise it always feels good to inspire someone into the dark and horrible swamp i like to call modding :lol: i remember way back in the days when i got into modding Panzer Elite by the creator of the MOTHER OF ALL SOUNDMODS ( wich is why my combat mission soundmod is called Father of none soundmod 8) )
  8. well unfortunately the downside to being a modder is that you already see all the fun stuff in the editor... shit, i havent even played the game far enough to se pk's more than once... and then i got my ass handed to me (wasnt prepared)

  10. well i did all the aforementioned steps with the ODBC, but i have a problem... where is the file saved too? what is the file im supposed to open? i d/l blueshelldataguy and tried to open my new datasource, but i dont know where it is!

    ok, im going to proclemate my standpoint on all this... first off i could import the game, but that would be much too expensive for a poor student like me. besides i dont want to stuff money into joewoods pockets when they dont deserv it... if they get a distributer in sweden ill gladly buy the game, but i wont go out of my way to get it... if anyone has any complaints about me playing with a copy i will be more than pleased to send the money directly to Nival, but im not giving any to joe wood since they have mismanaged this so badly... sorry if ive offended anyone, but thats how i feel.

    oh cut it out crash... i have to admit that im not using the original, but i will as soon as it is released in sweden, but i am not going to go around telling everyone that its ok to do so... if they want to do what i have done, they will just have to get dirty all by themselves... im not going to help them... and im definately not going to help the demise of such a fine game as this by spreading it to people without any guarantee that they will buy the game later... on another note... biggles, do you know if i have to make a completely new mod when the new patch comes out?
  13. i was wondering how you made some of these changes... like increasing the trowing range of grenades and their blast power... and increasing the spawn rate of items... but most of all... how did you improve structure resistance?

  16. well in my new mod (coming out in about a week or two) i have replaced the 33-40 rifles with "kar98k" rifles... i have used the polish mauser m29 for the regular kar98k and the standard kar98ksniper for the sniper version... the 33-40 sniper is still there, but the regular 33-40 rifle is gone completely.
  17. ease down shadow... hes not complaining about the game as such... hes just coming with new ideas for mods... who knows, maby a realtime mod will be a breath of fresh air... i love the game, and i still mod it because there are things i dont like about it... i dont like the sci-fi element, so i try to remove it or tone it down as much as possible, but that doesnt mean i should go out and buy another game... if that was true i would never ever buy a game in my life... hmm... ok well maby combat mission... but thats it...
  18. well it is kindof logical... you do get better at shooting if you praktice shooting at trees or whatnot... same with healing... even if you shot the guy yourself... so why remove it?
  19. Thanx for posting those Biggles... ill be sending some new ones for my new mod soon. its a bit more thought through than the last one... ps. this is a NEW mod... not version 1.3 of my old mod...
  20. i was just testing out my new mod (coming soon to a website near you!) and i realised that not only can you attack any destructable terrain object (wich means almost all of them) but you get skill improvement for attacking them... walking around on the first allies map hitting just about everything with my khukuri knife i went up about 6-10 points in melee!!! (i think... didnt check until after i was done choppin' 8) )
  21. i think it might work if you change all the character models to either side (ie. no side... allied or axis)
  22. Thanx for the info dude... in my next mod project i will change around the mausers a bit... there will be mauser Kar98k for all the german troops (altho i will probarbly use the m29 or m98 models)
  23. anyone have an answer to my question? its something that really bugs me. had there been a kar98k without a scope i would have equipped the german soldiers with it in my mod, but thre is none. so they'll have to live with the 33-40... so i would like to know what it is
  24. hehe no problem. by the way... my sound mod (no screens there :wink: ) will be over one meg in size... and i only have a hotmail e-mail so i cant send it to you... any sollutions?
  25. that campaign sounds promising... but please dont include any cost for moving items inside the inventory... i can understand that it cost to pick up, drop and use items, but not for putting them in the inventory in an orderly manner...
