  1. It's all about tactics really - I used to get shot to s**t by greys with rocket launchers. I used the same squad but changed my eapons round a bit and kept loading the games until I got the right balance of weapons and stuff.

  3. That would be cool - You could do like a galaxy thing and go from planet to planet and develop space ships and stuff.

    Snipers

Later in the game I've been using the snipers on the UFO mission jsut for the outside bit, but then packing them with shotguns and stuff as well for when they get inside.
  5. Robots would be f***ing excellent!!
  6. I think the colours are for the amount of ammo in each one - If you look at the green pack it has 1000 and the red 2000? A bit weird that you still ave unlimited power packs after installing the patch though.
  7. Although there are a few topics floating around about what you want to see in a patch. I thought I would see what people would want out of an expansion pack. In terms of a story or change in gameplay? I wouldn't mind a few things like vehicles (like the submersibles from TFTD) and to be able to go into a few buildings. It would be cool to have a totally new Tech tree as well. The coolest thing I'd like to see would be to carry straight on from where the last one finished - so you have all your team and current research and you just go on from there? Any ideas from the rest of you?
  8. Yeah I agree, I've already payed for the game once. Although I can't honestly say I've never downloaded a game before

    Too hard

I think it's hard enough on normal to be really challenging which is cool as I personally don't like completing games quickly as I never play them again. I don't the game is long enough though. Would be cool to have more stuff to research as well
  10. yeah - I'm just popping off to the moon pretty soon and I still haven't come accross any power cells. I'm thinking it must be a bug? Has anybody ever researched them?

    Cheats

If you don't have the config.cfg you can just create one in notepad. I didn't have one even after running the setup so I created on with the follwing text and then just saved it in the install root: #!TXT#CFG_FILE# STRUCT "root" KEY "cheats" BOOL TRUE END_OF_STRUCT "root" make sure you save it as a cfg file and not a txt and your good to go - just hit shift @ at the same time and the worlds yor oyster!
  12. that would be cool actually - I've just been doing waypoints until they face the right way! This was really handy in TFTD!

    Bug Report

isn't there a bug report topic in tech talk?
  14. It would be cool to have those tank things again like in TFTD. I loved those bad boys!
  15. I see what you mean about re-starting, I had a bit of an accident which forced me to restart (http://www.ufoaftermath.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=477 ) but when I did it all again I breezed through the begining and understand it all now so I will be in a stronger position when those harder missions come by.
  16. I did the mission last night!! I just had one guy who was super-heroic at running and packed him up with a plasma shotgun and a load of smoke grenades. With a couple of medic packs just in case. I then chucked a few smoke grenades and legged it to the wall, blew a hole and continued to run to the base. Once in the base I loaded the shotgun and blasted a couple of greys away. Topped up my health and ran the little guy over to the files, once there I dropped everything except the files and ran back to the exit dodgy the lasers as I went. I can't help feeling that I cheated, but I couldn't do it the normal way.
  17. Yeah it's annoying that :hmmm: .Is there something you can do once it goes yellow to keep the base? Every time it's happened to me I can't do anything about it, there are never any missions around the area to complete. It's probably because I delegate too many crappy missions to concentrate on the good one's!?
  18. I did the earlier missions by giving all my guys uzi's. I then waited for the enemies to come to me and then had the guns on burst mode which downs them really quickly. I then used grenades to kill the creatures that spit that green crap as they can't take explosions.
  19. Before I stupidly deleted my saved games I had 27 bases just before the Russia mission, 15 military-7 Engineering - 5 Research. I had more research bases but I had nothing to research so I changed to military so I could shoot some UFO's down!
  20. Yeah I changed the profile back to the original default game but there are no games - and all the saved game files are gone from the UFO folders in program files.
  21. I was very anxious to start playing this game having been a big fan of terror from the deep, so when I got the game I jumped into it straight away not looking at the menus or any settings. Last night having recovered from the humiliation of my boss tracking me down in the forum, I completed the Russian mission and was so pleased with myself I thought I would check out the settings I neglected earlier. I looked in the options menu and changed a few things, then I looked in the game menu.... ....I thought to myself 'default game' what could that be? So I fiddled about for a bit and activated a new game thinking it would make no difference to any saved games I had under the 'default game'. I WAS WRONG - THE SAVED GAMES HAD BEEN DELETED!! I was actually quite calm and thought to myself that the games would still be on the system, so I checked out program files - THE SAVED GAMES HAD BEEN DELETED!! Understandably I was a little bit annoyed at this having just done the Russian mission and progressing nicely throughout the game. Today I sit here telling you this awful story so that others may learn from my experiences and not loose everything for one moments stupidity. After therapy I started a new game and am doing quite nicely having learnt allot from the first time I played. The drugs the docter gave me are helping as well!
  22. Would I be heckled if I admited using the A-Team!? They kick ass!

    Tech-tree

It would be cool to look at a complete tree after completing the game - just to see if I missed anything for the next time I play it. Give it a couple of days and some genius will map it all out stick it in a text file and put it on neoseeker or something. ...I love theos guys!!
  24. I did it by keeping a everyone in the corridor outside the massive room where the file is and then sending my fastest guy in to get it. He didn't meet any aliens inside the room with the files which was cool. The guys in the corridor just downed a few aliens while he was running. Simple stuff!
