  1. That is Vista's main problem, it requires too much power just to run, leaving little room for optimal performance. A proper test should use the same top-noch computer for all OSes involved. Care to volunteer your machine for such tests Pete?
  2. Resource trades can only be cancelled by declaring war and attacking at least one of former ally's territories. Many have felt that an alternative of doing should of been added, but there is none. Avoid any trades that involve you giving resources away, but accept any that means recieving as long as it doesn't require to give up another. just equipment. Of course, you could just declare war, attack so the trade is broken and then just defend yourself until they're ready to declare a truce. I have no idea how much time is required for this after any betrayal tho.
  3. With the "Ramirez Powerplant" you should have a power production of 21 and a level 7 already. Are you trading out energy to any of the alien races? I seem to recall that either the expedition or the martians request an energy level in at least one of their trades
  4. Ah right, I forgot that the Alien Power Plant is renamed after the lead scientist participating in the project, most of the time being Ramirez. Ok, so you've researched it, have you upgraded the fossil fuel power plant to this?
  5. Have you researched the Alien Power Plant upgrade? If so, have you checked if you can upgrade the Fossil Fuel Power Plant?
  6. I highly question the 1000 APM peak, unless the tools that analizes the performance of the gamer fails to tell the difference between a typical keypress/mouseclick from a losing frustated gamer that slammed the hands agains the keyboard.
  7. No, from the link I posted you should see one that says "DOWNLOAD StarForce Driver Removal Tool" that links to the sfdrvrem.zip file that contains the removal tool. First of all, Aftermath doesn't use StarForce for most of the european releases with the exception of the Spanish and Russian versions. The only game you should be testing is Aftershock (the 2nd) If you already have aftershock installed from the trilogy and played it at least once (started the game), there's something you should check before doing anything else. If you could go into the Hardware management screen and from the view menu select "Show hidden Devices". Now, I don't remember if the SF device drivers are found in the "Non Plug and Play Drivers" section or in the "System Devices" section, but if you have installed and played at least one game with StarForce, the drivers should be there. If they aren't, then none of the games you have contain StarForce as a protection.
  8. The best way I can think of is to use the StarForce Removal Tool and then trying to start the game. If it's protected by StarForce then it should display a message that you need to restart the system before running the game. This is because when you run a game that is starforce protected and the starforce drivers aren't present or running then it will install them.
  9. The Lo-Fi version option is located and the center-bottom of the page
  10. Ok, try moving the unit out ot tactical training to the residential area and then start the training again by selecting the training option and clicking on the "Train" button.
  11. Well, it depends what application you're using to view the file and if it has a frame capture option somewhere. What are you using?
  12. Make sure the unit is in the military training building. It wouldn't be the first case where player had the guy outside of the actual building corresponding to the training.
  13. More like destroyed by them rather than invaded. IIRC, the pillars they place emit psionic radiation of some sort that make the place unhabitable, except for starghots.

Really odd. I'm using the same browser version and I'm downloading it without trouble. What download manager have you got the flashgot linked to?
  15. Basically, you can't win that mission that way. To complete this mission and game, you need the virus that the people on earth make which is delivered to you via the second transport ship, which you can request once you've completed the astronomical data research recovered from the artifacts your troops should of brought back from Phobos and Deimos. You done all this?
  16. Kret replied to Aralez's topic in Mods
Try using another application to download the file. Whatever you're using is terminating the download before it's actually completed.
  17. Erm... the stargate mod was made for UFO: Aftermath, unless there's another SG mod out there that I don't know of. Which of the 3 UFO titles do you want to mod?

But highly exploitable for some weird fun. Imagine sniping with either the shotgun or gatling gun.
  19. Well, the screens are 1280x960 24bit TGA files. They're located inside the gamedata.vfs file at {gamedata.vfs}\interface\textures\loading. All files are named 'Loading_xx.tga' where xx is a two digit value going from 01 to 12. I haven't been able to find any configuration file that directly points there, so it's possible this part is hardcoded.
  20. Kret replied to Aralez's topic in Mods
Please, download it again. I've just downloaded it myself and encountered no errors during extraction.
  21. I guess you could make a few out of some plastic explosive for max realism...
  22. The closest you can get to this would be to create a mod with the screens included and there's bound to be some limitations to it.
  23. Unfortunately, a mod wouldn't be capable of such a task. This would need to be coded into the game. It's a shame that is wasn't implemented, I'm one for watching the action unfold in real-time without the frantic pausing to make new plans.
  24. Try the official boards or even contact ALTAR games support. I have no helpfull information myself at this point.
  25. The MAC issue is simple, don't include the ':' and it should fit perfectly
