    v.1.4 bugs

capture a life transgenant and.... http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/5364/nicefi5.th.jpg ..throw it into the water? Two missions later my path blocked by a car and a motorcycle. Again on a capture mission. http://img439.imageshack.us/img439/6131/nice2wv2.th.jpg I've never had this happen to me in my previous games.
  2. great extension for when you're bored
  3. I just love the 1400x1050 res. I only had to increase the font size in firefox a bit and of course it makes everything on my other monitor look really vague.
  4. 1400x1050 on my laptop and 1024x768 on my desktop (very old monitor )
  5. thnx, the party just ended

  7. sin city was a lot better than I had expected, never read the comic though.
  8. hate me if you must , but I'm kinda looking forward to Spiderman 3. Bought part 1 & 2 on dvd last week and watched them again. Still think they're great.
  9. go to www.imageshack.us and get an account there, it's free and painless, just need an email address
  10. Got a bit tired of my old desktop so: http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/8279/screenshot536ee.th.png
  11. /me realizes he's bringing up a really old topic anyways: I managed to get ufo aftermath running on linux. Just by copying it from my windows drive and using standard wine to run it. There are two things that bug me though. 1. I don't have a mouse cursor except for the square cursor on the ground in tactical missions. 2. The screen is a little off centre, slightly to the right which bugs me too. Anyone know how to fix that?
  12. Since I was posting a screenshot of my desktop on some other forum and I'm curious what the average ufo/x-com player's desktop looks like, I decided to create this topic My desktop http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/5442/screenshot528jv.th.png For the n3rds among us: slackware 10.1 with the xfce window manager's default theme xmms mp3 player gnome-terminal coss the xfce terminal just sucks

    Music

I downloaded them when you first posted, just didn't reply to it. Not my cup of tea though.

Correct ID3 tags are nice, although audioscrobbler has a system for correcting misspelled artist names. I don't know if they are allowing signups at the moment though, there have been some database problems lately.

    Music

thnx, yep the audioscrobbler plugin. They have one for most of the popular music players. The best part of it is that they advise you on what other artists you might like by looking at the profiles of people who listen to the same bands as you, and see what other bands they like. edit: A less attractive aspect of it that some music that I don't want other people to see I listen to (see ashlee simpson in my weekly track list) shows up too

www.audioscrobbler.com/user/Harkov sort of describes my taste in music.
  17. I like his choice of words though: Kinda makes up for the bas review part
  18. I just read 65 posts and I'm surprised this one hasn't come up: I want my troops to be able to fire while moving... This was one of the things that annoyed me in the X-COM series as well. OH GOD! I got shot, well you were standing in front of the alien, you're not making it difficult for him to hit you.. There would be some exceptions like rocket launchers but the rest of the weapon can easily be fired while running. Battles will become more dynamic, you can cover your withdrawl by letting the last 2 guys in your sqaud walk backwards and opening fire on those little buggers. things that have come by (I'd like to see them as well): tanks, air support, more squads, larger squads, morale, take the fight to the aliens, more conventional weapons, nukes.
  19. Since the amount of missions available at some points in the game, some of them will have to wait some time before your squad is able to get to them. Which ones should be my priority and which ones will be resolved by CoE regulars? What I've been able to figure out is that alien infiltration missions need to be dealt with first, but is there any harm in not responding to a crashed UFO mission unless you need a node? Or leaving pilots stranded somewhere, I seem to have plenty of those anyway.

    No Cd?

I use a no cd crack as well, no use in inserting the cd every time I want to play if it isn't used for anything, is there?
  21. The game kinda forces you to equipt your troops when they get back to base. I pops up a menu with "chopper has arrived at base" or something and the options are "squad" and "carry on" if you choose carry on, you'll lose time and if you choose squad the equipt screen will be useless when you send your troops on a mission because you've already equipped them. bottom line: give me a "stop" button on the chopper returned to base event or leave out the 2nd equip screen
