  1. Nice tactics. I got a suggestion to replace the scout with a armored drone. Preferbly with the armor in this screenshot. There is even a turtle armor for recon drones but I haven't made it yet.
  2. You missed something....A trigger....Get hold of ALTAR GAMES support and explain the problem... They should be able to fix it. But what they should do is make a patch for it...
  3. Well I do know that it shouldn't take a month for it to appear. If the starghost have some territories on the Earth then it should be available.
  4. Silly me.... *SPOILERS* You need the 'Putting it all together' research topic.... Try the official boards and if you feel like your game is broken then get the support section at ALTAR GAMES to fix it....
  5. Out of the ashes of war rise the Free Land of Damned Nations. Please refrain from asking any political questions or the secret police will be forced to answer them for you at an undisclosed location.
  6. So far my greatest frustration is the equipment screen crash bug. It seems stable enough as long as you don't delete any squads, move around on squad members, drag a new squad member over an exsisting squad member, drag a new armor over an exsisting armor. The most appearant crash is when you drag and drop a squad member over another squad member which really bugs me when you are doing squad management....
  7. *SPOILERS PRESENT*(mind the caps) You need the new enemy research topic to advance the storyline. This you get if you have encountered the Starghosts. If not then your game is stuck in Limbo forever.
  8. Somehow the Reticulan Rebels that joined me stayed when I decided to remove their fellow beings from the surface of Mars. The Proof!
  9. Since a long spell of quiet from the Reticulan Rebels walked on the wrong side of the fence. So I decided to kick their little rear all the way of the planet into the realm of the Grim Reaper. In the assault on the final Reticulan Rebel territories the terrain was very much in my favor as I found a place that I call 'Snipers Perch' After I decided that Ute's fun time was over I send in the Gatling Gunners (Diego and Harald) to clean out the rest of the Reticulan Rebels. As seen here in the last stand of the Reticulan Rebels. As always the Matriachs are the bitches of the battlefield which needs to be put down as soon as possible. One way of doing it is with heavy laser weapons as seen here. Psionics is especially an other very efficent way of bringing them down as seen here. A real Kodak moment. Stunning them also works to buy some time and then finishing them off the way you want too as seen here. I'm gonna try to blow one up with some dynamite . That should make an example to all the other beastmen out there on Mars and beyond.
  10. Just for the fun of it I fooled around with the various vision modes and discovered that the reticulan expedition basic armor shields them from infrared detection. I knew those buggers were coldhearted SOB's. I guess that's confirmed now.
  11. You just answered your own question... Do enough of these and the robot's masters start to turn up as well You have answered your own question, Sorbicol Just for your information I currently have 15 operational martian drones. 2 hovers and 13 crawlers. No mechs though....
  12. I only experienced the Martian geosphere chopiness when letting it spin at full speed so I stopped doing that... My graphics card is an Inno3d Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS with latest drivers installed.
  13. I gotta ask you, Blueblood. How are those scientific lasers working against the EF? I never ever use lasers against them as they even in their most basic armor have extreme high resistance to laser damage. I would suit up with dual-wield pistols/shotguns to some fast runners and bumprush the heck out of them. Heck even rifles on fullauto will do the job. Just any weapon that there is faster then the mind controller (3 seconds worth). And if one of your team gets MC'ed then run like no tomorrow away from him and find that MC and end it's day.
  14. Same place under peoples section under the level tab. Same method/concept as in UFO: Aftershock. I have reached a point in the game where the going is a bit more tough but I manage as I know the weaknesses of my enemies.... The expedition will face an robotic onslaught once I get produced the right turrets and weapons. I'll see how that turns out....
  15. Topic title modified as spoilers will be present. In short excavation sites are where you gain artifacts needed for learning about the Martians history, language and what ever....So they are important to complete. And they are a nice place to pick up some martian drones too...
  16. *Begins to sing: Send in the drones.* The expedition are a tough bunch compared to the rebels so I let them be and became their allies so they would stop doing their probing attack on my territorial borders. Once I get my drones up and running (they were nerfed due to a lot of other things being more important) the Reticulan Empire will feel the wrath of my Robots.
  17. *SPOILERS ARE PRESENT* (Mind the caps) Capturing ones enemies are some times great sources for information. And as we all know information is the stepping stones on the way to victory.
  18. Good idea here, duezeone. In continuation of my preview game I am currently at: '53 Aug 03 Active Missions 19 Successful Missions 77 Failed Missions 7 Territories Owned 48 Territories Discovered 71 Radar Stations 42 Terraformation Stations 45 Terraformation Progress 60% We need some kind of measure of how technologically ahead we are too....Any ideas?
  19. Todays session went much more smooth with the arrival of two new heavy weapons, Laser Cannon and Gatling Gun, to the battle field. It also helped that I got some new armor that really puts a dampener on the Beastmens projectile weapons. First of a shot of the Laser Cannons special ability, the power shot! Feel the Power! The next one show the Gatling Guns special ability, scattershot! Just rolling! The good old sniper headshot still roles the battlefield. Head Shot! And we finish of with some shotgun fun. Right in the gut! One shot, two kills! Finishing up!
  20. Know your enemies weaknesses and they shall fall before you like you cut through butter. With my recent speedy research/production of nastier implements of destruction and armor I am in the lead again against the Beastmen. Matriachs now falls to a dual laser cannon volley and with the gatling guns been succesfully field tested against an incursion of Reticulan Rebels into my territory. On an entirely different point I have noticed that highpowered weapons (shotguns/sniper rifles/laser cannons) gets a knockdown effect when you hit them the first time....
  21. There are lots of these gates/portals through out the surface of Mars. And since they appeared near one they might have occupied all of them when they first arrived. I have tried to take them out when I encountered them to limit beastmen presence on Mars.
  22. In my search to overcome the latest Beastman weapon and armor leap I decided to try out the Warp Cannon from Earth. With some very promising results as shown below. You've been Warped! They might do lot's of damage but they are a bit slow for my taste. After rushing in the production of my first set of sniper rifle I put them to good use on a night mission. Knocking them out with the sniper rifle and finishing them of with the shotgun. Finished it! As always with these seek and destroy mission you gotta hunt down every single one of them. I surprised this Matriach (damn bugger). Showdown martian style Well back to Mars....
  23. I have only one word to say to CVG: X-COM! So they too ran their heads against the frustation barrier that there is UFO: Afterlight. Nice and objective review by TGSN.
