  1. Okay I got the crappy band version... I just wikied it and the instrumental version is gonna come out later in 2007.... Link
  2. Got my copy from Itunes. Otherwise go hunting in the various record stores in your area.
  3. I saw this movie on the opening night. And I loved it. It had the right mix of action, comedy, seriousness, sexual undertones (cut short by comedy) and irony (a bombshell blonde as a genius that Einstein would want for his wife for one example). The oneliners pops up in all the right places and can't help to make you laugh (as least I did). The comedy also helps to make the Transformers (at least the Autobots) more 'human-like' instead of being mechanical like the Terminator. While the action sequences makes sure that the Decepticons are portrayed as evil SOB's bent on havoc and destruction and conquest. One thing that I would like to ask: Are all Transformers evil from their birth/creation? See the movie for this before trying to answer the question. One last thing: FRENZY RULES!!!!
  4. Try looking over in the dark corner of the shop....That's where non mainstream games wind up *tells Gollum to go haunt EBgames HQ*. Or try some of the smaller gameshops/dealers in the Oslo area. You might get lucky.
  5. The Vault opens. Fallout 3 hands-on at Gamespy. *Is a bit confused about Gamespy and IGN*
  6. Unspoiled tips? Here goes. Explore and grab as much terrain as you can when you start out. When in tactical combat try to think of what you want to do instead of running all over the place. Keep your troopers together for maximum fire for effect on the enemy. But not to much together so that they can get nuked by a area of effect attack. Don't be a hero. If you use a scout and it spots a single enemy there are sure to be more enemies around. So bring forward your heavily armed troopers and blow that single enemy to bits. Even if there isn't any other enemies around. Stealth. Never leave home with out. But when it is broken be prepared to serious firefight or run like hell. Know thy enemy otherwise you'll find yourself fighting a real uphill battle. That's what I can come up with right now. But I am sure there are lots more unspoiled tips out there.
  7. Hexcode is always funny.... I would love to see error code 0XABEF155E (It doesn't make any sense unless you understand one of the nordic languages. But it should mean monkey p***y).
  8. Well not all games can be perfect 10's. Decent score is the right word.
  9. One more step closer to the office desk in 'The Island'. (It's the work space/desk of the character played by Sean Bean) - quote by the Cable Guy a.k.a. Jim Carrey
  10. I invoke the right as moderator and have the topic to it's proper place. As for the PhysX card....It's a dream. A beautiful dream that has it's own niche in the gaming industry despite it hasn't any earthshattering impact on the world where the two dinosaurs (Nvidia and AMD) rule. There is just not enough games out there that use the PhysX technology. But who knows....Someday....
  11. Logic?!? What is logic? I'll have to ask Spock about that. Weight is somewhat download as you can shoot a 200 pound enemy soldier halfway across the screen with a hail of SMG/MG fire. Blame the weight issue on Hollywood as they do like to send people into combat with neverending firing weapons and send people flying when they get hit by copperplated pieces of lead. As for Hammer & Sickle....It is the third evolution of the Silent Storm series games and therefore more 'realistic' with weight implemented and people will die when being shot in the head (I've had an enemy survive 6-7 headshots in S2 and S3). Where do H&S go wrong....Lots of different opinions about that....But I guess you could say it tries to be more of a storydriven RPG then a squad based tactical shooter which S2 and S3 are. But the general census on Strategycore is that it is a worthy game. It will challenge your tactical squad skills just as much if not even more then S2 and S3.
  12. So far as I can tell the Inventory weight concept hasn't been implemented into S3. But I'll have to get further into to the game to tell you if that's true or not. I do know that in the sequel Hammer & Sickle it has been implemented. So no more using your troops as pack mules.
  13. Screenshots!!!!! We want screenshots!!!!! Good to see that your having fun with the game, Knan.
  14. UFO: Afterparty. The day after! 'Beware of Reticulans with hangovers!' Sounds like the title for some fanfiction
  15. One major obstacle that needs to be overcome is the interface issue between the real world and the virtual word a.ka. Man-machine interface. Right now it's a keyboard/mouse/joystick/gamepad/monitor/speakers solution. Something like the neuron interface from 'Brainstorm' or 'Strange Days' might be beyond the horizon. Even the network interface in the back of your head known from 'Matrix' and 'Johnnie Mnemonic' is also out there beyond the horizon. Voice recognition instead of keyboards is not an far fetched idea due to the advances being made in cellular phone technology. One other thing I would like to see instead of 108' display screens is a decent wearable visor display like what they use in the Apache combat helicopter. But this visor display shall be able to display a resolution that rivals what a 30' Machintosh screen can show (2560x1600 screen resolution). And it should be no different then wearing a pair of glasses so you can wear the visor when you walk down the street instead of having it block your field of view as most of the current visor displays does. A display like that would open up for the concept of augmented reality where the virtual and the real world augment each other.
  16. My recent time away from the forums has been due to two reasons: World of Warcraft (hence forth known as WOW) and Lord of the Rings Online (hence forth known as LOTRO). These two games should be labelled with a warning stating that you will be robbed of time and money. Real life friends and social life might suffer from these games if you get absorbed and immersed into these games. But hey! Life is supposed being an adventure so what is wrong with travelling around Azeroth and/or Middle-earth doing some adventuring? And by adventuring I don't mean jumping of building/bridges with a parachute or an elastical cord strapped to your body, white water rafting, mountain biking and all that extreme sports stuff. No I mean adventuring by travelling and exploring. While most of the worlds population don't have the financial means to do so worlds like Azeroth and Middle-earth offers the next best thing namely: Going places and doing stuff. But you won't be going places and doing stuff by yourself as you do in most RPG based computer games. Many other real people that are going places and doing stuff on Azeroth and Middleearth just as you do: Infront of your computer. Friends are to be found in Azeroth and Middle-earth. Friends you can go places and do stuff with. All of this ranting brings me to the question at hand. Where will these virtual worlds take us? Will the virtual worlds become an integrated parts of our everydays as they are 'trying' to do with Second Life? Who says that these exsisting virtual worlds are only for entertainment purposes. Can they be used for something more? If, yes. Then what can they be used for? If, no. Then what will become of them? (Personal Rants/opinions are most welcome. Just beware of feedback!).
  17. The only problem I have with my current game is that I can't research plasma technology as I can't capture a live martian soldier due to the fact that the beastmen has killed them off. So it has been put on hold until this problem/feature is solved.
  18. *LL Cool J walks in and starts singing: 'Mama said knock you out'.* And that is what you need to do. To succesfully capture an alien you have to incapacitate it by one of the following means: - Shoot until their health bar goes red. - Stun it with a psionic attack or something else that stuns. After you have brought your target down you need to have a person near it when it awakens (a medkit really does wonders here. So do remember to pack one before the mission). To avoid the captive from turning on it's captors(your troops) keep at least one person near it at all times while escorting it back to the UFO. One other way of completing a capture m

  20. MS databases....URGH!!! One wrong step and your screwed.... I'm not a MS SQL specialist or anything but since you had to reinstall just about everything in your machine then it seems that there is something besides Windows, S2 and S3 you have forgotten to install....
  21. Topic moved due to possibility of buggyness. Bugged weapon, maybe. I've read about weapons that have their value messed up. Report it to ALTAR GAMES on support@altargames.com and they'll give you some feedback.
  22. Welcome to the boards zodden! Try the turtorial mission and keep your game tips on. That way you should get into the game. You might step wrong a few times but that is all part of the learning curve. Sorry no pdf'ed manual here... Just remember that this game is much different then the X-COM games since it uses the SAS system. So if you get angry over all of the pauses adjust them to your liking in the options menu. And if you do any questions at all feel free to post them on the board.
  23. @subdane: Use explosive grenades. Then they will blow up nicely. As for minesweeping....Use a Reticulan.... Or Turtle Drone
