thecyke
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a quick nosing around the net by myself turns up new and previously unpublished X-Com Genesis Concept Art! Cue the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth after you see these. I've yet to hear, read or see anything that gives the impression Genesis would not have rocked our little booties off. Check it out RIGHT HERE

Pumpkinhead
I get depressed any time I read something about there never being any more X-COM games
Neorapsta
Yeah, i've seen these before But always remember, just cos a professional company doesn't make an X-com game doesn't mean there won't be another one. Thats what us fanbois are for
Pumpkinhead
At the moment I'm hanging for the Last Hope mod... It seems to be as close to Alliance as we're gonna get anytime soon...
The Veteran
That's one hell of a Chrysallid :o But if you want a new game come and give Colonisation the support it needs!
FullAuto
Every time I read about XCG I am surprised at just how much Atari/Hasbro/Microprose/whoever sucks and blows simultaneously. This would have been a cracking game. I mean, Dave Ellis was on board!Bah!
ShadowBlade
Every time I read about XCG I am surprised at just how much Atari/Hasbro/Microprose/whoever sucks and blows simultaneously.Aye... They killed what could've been an all-time classic...
Kernel
Hasbro were the ones to kill Genesis not Atari so don't blame them. Remember Atari have alowed Sid Meyer create another Pirates! game so there's every chance they will also create another X-Com game at somepoint in the future if there is sufficent demand from the fans. JellyfishGreen
Coincidentally, I've been playing "Robotech:Battlecry" these last few weeks, which was the project developed by the Genesis offshoot team "Vicious Cycle" mentioned in the article. I've only watched a few episodes of Robotech back in the day but I'm really enjoying the game. A bit of powered-armor fighting, a bit of jetfighter-flying, and a bit of "Oops, those last missiles levelled a building by accident."
FullAuto
Aaah, Robotech. We hardly knew ye. When I was knee high to a grasshopper, they only had two videos of it at my local rental place. Didn't stop me renting them out over and over again though.

JellyfishGreen
In other news on the art front, check out the "Ranger" characters in Phantasy Star Online https://www.psobb.com/downloads/wallpaper.php https://www.psoblueburst.com/en/index.html and tell me that shock of blond hair in blue headgear doesn't ring any bells.
