Can some one help, i have gotten my english copy of silent storm from ebay so i uninstalled the Russian version and have installed it, the installation wizard didn't give me the choose of where to install the program but instead  installed it straight into C/windows. no matter what i do it always does this and when i try to run the game it shows the error
"The Binkw32.dll file is installed in the windows or windows system directory - it must be installed in the applications directory"
                                                                                                                                                             can anyone help??

Why can't you install in to a different directory? What menus do you get when you go through the wizard? And when you say the English version, do you mean the Gold Edition or the normal Silent Storm game?

Slaughter was asking what options you get when you are installing the game. Do you get a dialog asking where to install it? You should have a dialog that says something like "Silent Storm will be installed to C:\Program Files\Nival Interactive\Silent Storm" and there should be a "Browse" button next to that. When pressed, the Browse button will let you choose where to install the game.

You need to give us more information about the install process. That is where the problem is, it sounds like. Tell us more about why you can't install in a custom directory...

Don't give up! This game rocks! It's worth it!

It doesn't come up with the dialog where to install, it just goes straight to the Mod, repair remove box. its searches for previous installed files then goes to the above mentioned screen. i've tried uninstalling but it seem to leave files on my drive??

EDIT: Made a long post here, suggesting formatting hard drive, but then I found this solution over at the Nival Forums. Go here: Someone With The Same Problem!!!.

Hope this helps!

Thanks to you two, that did the trick DoomMunky may all your head shots hit their mark. Also i would recommend to anyone to use registryfix to remove the programme for reinstallment.

You're so welcome! I'm glad I could help, and I'm glad you're enjoying the game.

What is registryfix? Try linking to a program the next time you mention it. Click on the button above the reply box that says http:// and enter the url for the site, then put in the words you want to be the hyperlink. Easy! Did you mean this: http://www.registryfix.com/?
