Slaughter
You can now find a X-Com music mod in our mods section by Strahd. It is a 30 MB download however, just so you know . And in case you find the mods section hard to navigate, rest assured that work is in progress to improve it. And for our French, Hungarian and Spanish friends, the wait is finally over. You can now find the 1.2 patch for your games in our patch section!

Koloth
Okay. Now is there any information on having two installations of UFO A on one machine so we can continue an unmodified game and install mods to a second copy? Is the best bet to use two computers? <grin>
Slaughter
I don't think it's a good idea to install the game twise at one computer. It will mean registry trouble I believe. Better go for two computers...
Aralez
What about the good old "copy-and-rename" procedure?
Shortstop4313
*Sighsighs* I wish someone would REMIX the music... It's just midi music here... and I'm too lazy to remix it myself!
UfoMan
The MusicMod is my favorite so far. It didn't seem to uninstall correctly, but no matter. At some point if he can get ALTAR to work with him, it would be nice to have some of their music worked into the mix as well, especially the Option Screen music and the Credit Screen music from Aftermath. Bomb Bloke
Won't happen, the music is copyrighted... Midi music in mp3... hmm... With any luck, though, a patch will be released that can handle mods on it's own... The currant mods are just hack-ups, cause that's the only way to do it... Remember peoples, hackers are your friends... https://www.angelfire.com/games3/jeffy90/images/smilies/alien.gif
Shortstop4313
Yeah, the mp3's in the mod are exactly the same as the midi's I have in my collectors edition version.
Bomb Bloke
Maybe if a midi-to-mp3 converter was thrown in the mod, as opposed to 30mb of mp3s, it would be a bit smaller... is my point... nothing wrong with midi tunes, just no real point in bumping up the file size if you can get away with it... Ghostrider
ABOUT those two copies of UFO on one machine - why don't you owners of WinXPs try to have two installations on one PC - C: + D: - I have it and I use the D: Xp for trouble surfing in the NET - SPAM is EVERYWHERE so I use only this D: copy + C: copy is FAST for DOING extreme things like FIREWIRE MOVIE Downloads or REAL TIME MPEG4 Compression ... Try TWO XPs on ONE MACHINE it's FUN And about PROGRAMS which CONVERTS Midis to WAVes - Does anyone have a good tip on some at least shareware or trial copy on the NET ... Converting all the MIDIS I want before trial runs OUT That is ninja TACTIC
Bomb Bloke
Or you could just take advantage of your two XP installations to double your trail time. https://www.angelfire.com/games3/jeffy90/images/smilies/wink.gif Why convert the things anyway? You loose quality, and gain a massive amount of filesize. https://www.angelfire.com/games3/jeffy90/images/smilies/eh.gif
Koloth
Ghostrider - Are you talking about two installations of XP or two installations of UFO? If you mean the former, hmmmm, or even the latter, hmmmm, perhaps I do have a use for those removable hard drive kits that I thought about getting... Slaughter
He was talking about two installations of XP...
Ghostrider
I was meaning two XP installs - two different to choose after RESTART . One UFO on each of the two Windows . So that is the way of getting no problem with MODING for example only the UFO copy on WINXP on disc C: will be undertaking XPERIMENTs ... UFO on XPs on disc D: will remain untouched . Bomb Bloke
I reckon it might just be easier to play with the regestry instead...
