  1. Not likely to be seen in theaters unless you go to a Sci-Fi Convention and see it there. In fact. on August 30th at 7:00 P.M. The "Prelude To Axanar" will be shown somewhere at DragonCon in Atlanta, Georgia. I'll be there supporting the project. I would have posted some picture here, but I'm not sure how. Unfortunately with the limitations placed on "Fan Films" by CBS/Paramount, they cannot show any profit from this. On the other hand, it is tremendously generous that they allow this kind of thing at all. About the $25 to see a movie. Any donation down to $1 is welcome and helps to support it, which it deserves. Eventually (late 2015, if it gets made?) it will all be posted on YouTube, etc. due to the limitations noted above. There's more great content available on their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StarTrekAxanar
  2. At least one Star Trek "Fan Film" has propelled itself past mere fandom by employing the help of movie and television professionals who are also rabid Star Trek Fans and together they are creating a studio quality independent Star Trek production called "Star Trek Axanar". Employing top acting talent like, Richard Hatch, Tony Todd, JG Hertzler, and Kate Vernon, along with professional movie makers and support staff, Axanar is out to prove that you don't need millions of dollars and a studio to produce a great movie. The Story of Star Trek: Axanar “Axanar” takes place 21 years before the events of “Where no Man Has Gone Before”, the first Kirk episode of the original Star Trek. Axanar is the story of Garth of Izar, the legendary Starfleet captain who is Captain Kirk’s hero. Kirk himself called Garth the model for all future Starfleet Officer’s. Garth charted more planets than any other Captain and was the hero of the Battle of Axanar, the story of which is required reading at the academy. This is that story. “Axanar” tells the story of Garth and his crew during the Four Years War, the war with the Klingon Empire that almost tore the Federation apart. Garth’s victory at Axanar solidified the Federation and allowed it to become the entity we know in Kirk’s time. To prove their concept, the Axanar team has produced a twenty minute, History Channel style short where the major players in the Battle of Axanar look back at what happed leading up to the battle. Check out the trailer for "Prelude To Axanar" on their web site at http://startrekaxana...nar.com/. Then head over to their kickstarter at: https://www.kickstar...tar-trek-axanar to see the full twenty minute Prelude To Axanar". Please keep the dream moving forward by donating whatever amount the work so far inspires in you.
  3. at end of mission press the "escape" key to get an exit menu.
  4. Yes the 2nd mission. KK, I'm learning the keys as I haven't played much that used the WASD, etc keys. Got sectoids both times I've played it. 7 total the first time and 8 the 2nd time.
  5. I'm just removing the intro and tuitorial misson. At end of mission it froze, but when closed and reopened it runs fine. Enjoy!

Now up to v1.2. Be sure to read the "More Info" section as there are restrictions on removing the tuitorial mission. If you have any problems, have STEAM verify and fix the files and try again.
  7. Just wishing there was more substance to the demo play-through...
  8. I like how on the 2K forum they've made it so you can read the thread and not get spoilers unless you want to by highlighting the text. Neat use of the available tools. I assume they're just changing the font color to black (background color).
  9. Played the demo. Wonder if you can skip the tuitorial mission...
  10. It's good to have the demo. I've been on the 2k forums and there has been a lot of criticism of the English language reviewers not providing much detail compared to what's coming out of Germany, Russia and Poland. Too much editing, I expect. First run through I lost one guy... better next time I hope.
  11. Okay. Figured out how to get the mouse working in Apoc under virtual PC. I found an old dos boot diskette and using the networking (wow!) copied the files to the virtual PC's C: drive in a DOS subdirectory. Among the files is mouse.com. Then I added the following line to my AUTOEXEC.BAT file: LH C:\DOS\MOUSE.COM The LH command is for "Load High" which means it puts the driver in the area between 640K and 1MB. Note that when you start your first game of APOC, the only selection that works is to start a new game. Now to figure out why the sound goes wonky after a few minutes of play... perhaps another driver... Take Care, Koloth
  12. It's on its way to you. Let me know if you need anything else. DANG! forgot to zip it. I'm just spoiled by big pipes!
  13. In a further attempt to answer my own question, <grin> I figured out that the file area does allow uploads. I tried uploading "Installing Virtual PC 2007 for XCOM APOC.rtf", which has lots of screen shots and got the following error. Error: Uploaded file is larger than the maximum filesize allowed for this type of file. Allowed size: 2048000 Filesize: 8065458 File type: application/msword . If you believe this to be in error, please quote the above error and report this to the admin Okay, the number of bytes is correct, do I have to split it into four files or is there another way? BTW the upload form did not show the local path after I did the browse and selected the file. This made me wonder if it was even going to attempt the upload.
  14. Yes. I got the same problem. I'm also going through a KVM, but that also shouldn't matter. My host OS is XP SP3, what's yours?
  15. Okay to do either of those I need an upload link or an email address. Any suggestions? The help here in the forum doesn't say anything about attaching something to the toplc. Is it called something else?
  16. Greetings, slaughter! Well, as usual I answered my own question, but it took some searching on the web. I found some downloadable starters for the virtual floppy image and a starter virtual hard drive. The virtual hard drive contains only COMMAND.COM, but using th virtual floppy you can then get access to the CD drive and install Windows 98. I've written it all up in a word document with some screen shots. I can upload it as a .DOC or as a .RTF (readable with wordpad). I haven't posted in a while, but I recently wanted to run Apoc and revisited the problems involved.
  17. Okay, got virtual PC and created a virtual disk then ... found out I could hit 'del' to go into the virtual bios... uh, how do I start the Win98SE install? I have old Win 98 floppy boot disks, but NO 3.5" DRIVE! Arrrggghhh. Any ideas? (this is actually kinda funny)
  18. I figured that out and have changed the network to use a shorter key. I can now enter the whole key into the PSP. This hasn't worked so far, so I've got to go back and carefully confirm that I've got everything set to the same key. (yeah, it's been low priority). I did confirm that the networking works by connecting to a STAPLE's WiFi network last night with the PSP. At least that means that the "radios" work. I'll get it eventually. Thanks for your help.
  19. Greetings, Okay I suckered and took a deal on a PSP. I've got a wireless network using WEP (due to old devices) and I use a 128 bit key which requires I enter 26 hex digits for the key. On the PSP I seem to only be able to enter about 12 characters then it stops taking input. There doesn't seem to be a way to select the strength of WEP being used (64 or 128 bit). The PSP system software is v3.71. I just updated it to the latest I could find. Any network savy/PSP people out there ?
  20. Greetings, I downloaded the demo, unzipped it and tried to run the executable and it crashed. I tried to get the Microsloth error reporter to give up some information and although it will tell you what it is going to report, it won't let you copy it. That would obviously be too useful! <grrrr> Anyway, I did a snapshot of the first page if it's any use to anyone I could upload it somewhere. Take Care, Koloth
  21. Greetings, Thanks guys! I just tried it again and got a 404, but when I told it to try again it loaded normally. Take Care, Koloth
  22. Greetings, Recently (last couple weeks), on mozilla firefox when going to http://www.strategycore.co.uk/ I get a message of "Future home of another amazing site powered by SITE5.COM". I thought you were working on the site, but then I tried with Internet Explorer and I get to the site just fine. Any idea what's going on ? Take Care, Koloth lwbenjamin@bellsouth.net
  23. Well, I installed UFOAI and tried to run it only to get the error "GLimp_EndFrame() - SwapBuffers() failed! [OK]. Now I'm waiting for a membership in their forum to be approved so that I can try to report it there.
  24. I installed the patch and had no problems with continuing a game I had in-progress (before Wargots). I had not installed any mods...
