XCOM Enemy Unknown Q&A - Ask Away!

Oh, so this was already answered?

Well, this is one change I do not like. It was just great when you only had plasma rifle - as there were not enough cannons to go around - and were able to change it in the field. Damn.

Oh yeah, this must be coming from the self-destruct mechanism the alien weapons have, forgot about that. If nothing else, at least they explained the change well.

You have 2 weapons per soldier and unlimited clips so running out of ammo is not a problem.

Having read that there is no alien base mission - will they plan to add it in the future? Come on - this mission wasn't fun in the original - why everything must be fun. Not to mention that alien base (colony) in TFTD was even more nightmare.

Having unlimited clips doesn't mean running out of ammo is not a concern. Given reloading is a conscious, time-consuming action, having a mean alien in your face and an empty weapon in your hand could very well be fatal.

That's the primary thing people forget when reading about unlimited ammo. I bet more than a few imagine uninterrupted firing and/or inconsequential reloading, and therefore no need for restrain nor tactical decisions when picking targets and abilities. Far from the truth.
