Legends of Pegasus

It's more than a flyer, it's Legends of Pegasus's official magazine. As Novacore Studios' first 4X space simulation effort nears release, we are informed that a special publication has been made available.

This freely available magazine contains an introduction to the game, an interview with the Novacore team and an in-depth preview. There is also an exclusive competition...

From the Gamerzines publication:

(...) all the expected bells and whistles are here, including the ability to design and create your own ships, colonise planets, conduct negotiations with other races and of course orchestrate multiple fleets across different systems.

(...) we catalogue our experiences with a near final release build, talk to NovaCore Studios about their début creation and highlight some features which are certainly worth getting excited about. Not only that, we also have an exclusive competition to win one of ten copies of the game.

It's more of a give-away than a competition from what we could glean, but if you fire all of your auxiliary thrusters this instant you might still catch a copy. And even if you don't, the coverage, illustrations and embedded media are still worth a look (direct link).

Meanwhile, be sure to keep monitoring your sensors, as this title should be entering normal space very soon.

It's not very easy to be entirely original given the multitude of 4X games already out there, which cover just about any imaginable kind of faction - but I'd be mostly satisfied if half of them actually nailed the gameplay side of things. :P

I dont remember if it was here, but "Endless Space" is a pretty recent and great game, its practically a remake of "master of orion" save from some details like building (made at solar system level) and battles (3 different phases and maniouver cards). Give it a try if you can.
