silencer_pl
The rebels keep doing their stuff... ... but finally they piece off. And again game shows me how it dosen't like me and the only true Swots god here is SV. A crappy pic of herald - more can be found on video. You can even learn what The herald has to offer. Hello independent humans - we will eat you later. Hello ? A big juicy Alien Derelict... but I had to scew up and got my ship destroyed... Thank you Herald - visit us again. As if it never ends I found yous I had this colony for free and it is on the other side of the galaxy - whish I was hivers and had 50 ships and gate there. Fish time soon will come... ... or I will die trying Come to papa sweet money Wrong place you bastard Hello Tarkas - nice Cruisers you have there, can you not shoot us please? No? Why you hate us so much... And humans - you too ? I know I know - you hate me. But I try so hard game - what do you want from me... Not my planet - but again I scew up and after a good chase I failed to escape.... Our current standing I have all the terraforming techs except terra nanites which I think I cannot get. Now I will have cruiser and will upgrade more weapons - currently I have green beamers, plasma, point defence, photon torpedos. After that I will try to aim for fussion engines and FTL economics...Sorry for the one liners but practicly this was exploration era and not much happend, some events I failed to capture on screen but you will find it on movies. This game after few good moves from me always reminds that it hates me so much.
Space Voyager
Cool, you got a free colony! Size two, but hey, a gifted horse and all that. An extra colony like this one can mean a whole lot of difference. I see you have a lot of problems with revolts. Try to save 1 million and never go below it unless in dire need. Savings will earn you extra morale each turn. Adding police cutters will add one more morale point. 5 million savings will add more. And full trade routes more... So there are quite some morale modifiers that can help you but having 1 million in a bank is the easiest one. In the game. Looks like a good start! Thorondor
Looks like a good start! Why doesn't he seem as convinced of that as you? *hate, hate, hate* Hang in there, silencer! :: You'll get yourself higher up in the pecking order given a little more time... and 'pacify' those unruly neighbours of yours. silencer_pl
I wish I had that optimism of yours... probably will be eaten by silmutanous Tarkan/Human/Liir attacks... not to mention another visits from The Herald.... and Von Neuman. Will try another turn for the Alien Derelict.
Space Voyager
Try to get out of the way for them to come to each other and expand to non-inhabited parts of the map. And remember that the AIs are not out to destroy YOU in particular. They are out to win. So don't try to fight them all, let them fight each other. Especially don't colonize high CH worlds that don't have enough chances of survival. Those are just milking your income with little chance of becoming profitable. silencer_pl
Actually I am in the corner so any further expansion is through war... Had a battle against 26 Liir Cruiser, lost 2 ships had only 3 cruiser - god the Asteroid Monitor took such a pounding I was totally amazed... Well the Tarkas sort of driven me away I will try to make defensive perimeter upgrade my guns and battle one AI at a time - first are the Liir on my scope. They have suffered much on their incursion now so I will have to press on. Also expansion is a no go since many planets round me are 900-1000 Hazard there are few 500 but are close to Tarkas. I hope that Humans will want to have some piece of Tarkas cake.
silencer_pl
Either I am very bad or extremely unlucky or AI has some good bonuses on normal too. A scouting unit closes near our colony. We send our hello with some laser fire. Next I find another Asteroid Monitor but it was fast captured by someone else. Liir are doing their stuff by annoying me with scouts. Well obviously my Scout from turn 1 isn't going to survive Another visit by Von Neumann. Asteroid Monitor does what it is supposed to do. This planet is my colony target so thank you. Tarka pays us a visit with their bomb squad.... I guess his agro is high because he has pink color.... I hope Humans will take care of him later. And I am late for the grab... on movie first I try manual resolution, but I failed so I went grrr.... reloaded and tried auto resolve. It went better but.... I lost either way... This sector where that planet is will soon be a place of conflict between me and Liir. Fresh colony and grr, game hates me - have I told you that? Slavers..... and the bonkers I did instead of waited for the shuttle I rushed at the cruiser.... I think I will get contact with these later too... Also hello queenie... And !$@#$@ Liir... Another Tarkas - I feel like a little whelp. Pink Tarkas are getting on my nerve again.. And don't forget theme: We found our other 'Brothers and sisters' maybe we don't eradicate ourself's first? Also I have researched trade but I struggle to understand it at first - thought that I don't have cruiser frigates because of lack of fusion engine - I later discover that I need Frigate cruiser tech to do it.... Tarkas are gits (is this the right word?) and doushbags I tell you. More travelling money Hello Humans, and go to hell tarkas.
silencer_pl
The Herald likes us very much.... I had to manual control not to loose ships. The very first grand battle and I say it is grand - better watch it... I took advantage of having Asteroid Montior though it had only Gauss Weapons - I guess that if it was AI AM it would have top of the line armament - and that AI was strangely obsessed with destruction of this thing. Thankfully 4 turns ahead of battle I was warned and the scientists delivered on time DE type CnC class ship which definitely helped. After 3rd wave (I think) I had to make a sacrifice in order to save the AM. Now this battle is the eve of the grand battles with Liir I hope - well I will try in near future take action at their turf - just need few more tech upgrades (specialy weapons). The battle take places at 8:28 above movie and continues in the below one But of course Tarkas must remind me how much I hate them. And the other escapes with nothing. After the grand battle I have taken their colony and they are trying their best to reclaim it there - luckly this colony is 1-2 turns away from my 'Forge' world so I can keep reinforcements coming - well unless they will send like 100 CR or a couple of DN's. And the last of their tries... By turn 150 my standing is pretty weak.... I hope to survive another 150 I am trying to raise the trade routes hope that it will help me somehow. silencer_pl
I've been trying hard and I failed again - my bad luck never runs out and I am not Swot God like SV. The Fish started their Assault... I managed to counter it but they have used Bio weapons resulting my colony its fast demize. You can watch this battle. And of course because they were number 1 in ranking - looks like being the best eggheads in the game they can afford it. Also, because they have Anti-Matter engines they can sometimes intercept my scout with me even detecting them... Of course this battle wasn't my last one... I sure did kick some of their fins. The Asteroid Monitor was outclassed this time... and those Fish with AM drives are floating so fast that heavy weapons can't have good focus on them also their habit was to destroy my engines. Because VN were crushed by my AM's well they payed a much nastier visit as If I wasn't already on my knees The fish are mad. And so is my last pull of revenge But this just cooked my goose. My economy just couldn't handled... By the time they pulled those DN's I managed to liberate 2 of my colonies and attacked one of Tarkas colony. I knew that I was outclassed but even if I had DN's of my own I just wouldn't be able to sustain such burden. So with pride I gave my kingdom to someone else. P.S. I'll get my revenge someday - no fish will sleep when I will be back. P.S. 2 The good news is that Human AAR is going exceptionally well... if only those node lines weren't so irritating to view the map.
Space Voyager
Not trying to comfort you but you did set difficult starting terms. I never tried with no alliances, mostly because I like the diplomacy in SotS, but this sure makes you hated by everyone. It is really great that you still decided to bring things to an end instead of just dropping the AAR. Even a peaceful transition of your empire to another one is ok. Glad to hear that Human AAR is doing better.
silencer_pl
Well I blame it to bad luck and not my great skill with this game yet as I learned couple of new things from you...As you saw I had like 5 high CH planets near home - that would be much better if they had at least 500 CH. Also the nearest planets had also 300+ CH so I couldn't be picky about planets that is why I did early mostly all my bio research to help speed things up. Also the 3-4 visits from The Herald didn't help me either. I never tried with no alliances, mostly because I like the diplomacy in SotS, but this sure makes you hated by everyone. Points at your Zuul campaign
Space Voyager
Points at your Zuul campaign Yes, true... Alliances were allowed but being Zuul... I was kinda hoping the rest would gang up on me at some point but they destroyed each other instead. Your idea for teams was definitely an interesting one but if they all outright collaborated in destroying me, they would.

Even a peaceful transition of your empire to another one is ok.What he said. No point in dragging things to the bitter end when you clearly see you're really outgunned and with little to no chance of turning the tables on your foes. It was an honourable armistice. :: You've sent a fair few to fishy heaven anyway, silencer, and the new AAR may just be the ticket to send a few more over to keep them company! Space Voyager
Why is that in all games the fish must be number 1 by turn 100 ? I am keeping myself being second on the leaderboard....There is an exception to the "fish being first" rule. The exception is me playing as Liir. Being second on the leaderboard is great. You intend to play the whole game before posting the AAR?
silencer_pl
I'll start posting when I will feel that I will not be annihilated just like that. I made game bit harder. Also I am experimenting with drones... Until the enemy don't have phaser defence they are behaving quite better than I expected it.
silencer_pl
Just a side note - I haven't forgot about this, just my time limits prevent me from any further advancement. silencer_pl
Because we are all waiting for SotS2 to be playable enough (and of course your AARs need refreshing ) And because there are always CTD with every patch - the game is highly unplayable.
