A Stunning Techie Problem

...Or "Why the **** can't I bring home live Technicians!?"

 

It's strange, when I began the game, I could bring home live Technicians with no problems. But, after I interrogated four Technicians for all they're worth, I find that all Technicians I capture end up dead when I bring them home. Obviously, I don't need Technicians to complete the game, but I have this sort of obsessive-compulsive desire to complete the UFOPedia.

 

My copy is the early DOS version, I believe. It's the one that needs a Lobsterman Navigator to research the Magnetic Navigation thingie.

 

Yes, I'm pretty sure I didn't kill them beforehand. The ended mission stats list them down as live aliens.

 

No, my Alien Containment thingie isn't filled. In fact, it's completely empty.

 

No, I don't have any problems with taking home other aliens alive. Well... except for the large terrorists, but they can't be brought home alive, right?

 

So, umm... yeah. Help? And if there's no way to get around this outside of restarting, is there a sort of Editor solution to make Technicians appear in my Alien Containment or in my Can-Be-Researched List? >>

for an editor solution there are a few containment editors out there. Most requre you to have atleast one alien in conatinment but there is atleast one that will create new enteries.

 

Invalid units sutch as tentacalent comanders do not show up in game even if the editor will put them there.
