But it'll also depend on how quickly the Triton will refuel after each assault.

I can't remember if it is necessary to go home after a mission. If it is not you can just take more ammo with you and go for several missions if not too many are hurt or lost.

indeed, apoc also allows to travel all over the place without returning to base but the originals do not...

I want dibs on the MC thingy when we get one, I am the best after all :) Speaking of which, why are there still no other commadner avatars? We need them for T'leth at the very least or it'll be a dead boring mision (we're all going to die there anyway after all)

I've allready got my avatar in using an assumed name I made up for a letter I composed for an English paper I did many years ago in high school. Problem is I can't fit in the 'Fingersham' due to the limited string field length. Still wounded and apparently a cowardly weakling - so won't be able to participate in any of the three downed subs. :)

Hokay - took my turn and I'm going right to bed after this.

I'm officially in the tank busters club and I'm starting to hate Lobsterman Technicians.

I might've attracted the attention of some Lobstermen base attackers again after shooting down one of their scouts. Also I seem to have gotten a glitched mission tally with double the values of almost everything in the top half of the screen.

Exactly the same thing that happened to me if you remember when I redid that mission. Very odd that none of us have seen this error before and now we've had it twice in the same game hey :s

Anyway, good job, cleaned the place out for only 2 losses which is no mean feat :) Shame about poor old Carlos, if only he'd been off the ground hey lol Can't believe it took so many turns though, you were being very careful I think :)

Y'now, we could just manually correct the mission results screen. Uploaded the MISSDAT folder from the end of the mission if you still have it and want me to do it.

I get the impression that it doesn't matter where you shoot down USOs, but rather, the longer they're allowed to float around near your base the more likely they'll find it? Mind you, I've done no research into the matter, nor payed attention to any research that may have been done... I'm just going by how it works when we want to find an alien base...

It occurs to me that there'd've likely been a DPL or two in that battleship mission I did, and if an alien had cared to fire one at the group I put on top of the Triton I would've been seriously messed up.

The roof of the Triton is such that any unit needs to walk to the very edge of it to see the terrain on the other side. This isn't limited to tanks. Note that they can see units fine, so if there's an alien in range, it'll show up within the fog of war.

If it'd been me, I'd've seriously considered sending the Triton home when I determined it was going to be a night mission. Wait for the next morning, and if the USO despawned before then, hey, no big deal... shoot down another sub and fight that. As it stands that was a very good result, day or night! :)

I don't have the Missdat entry anymore as I immediately saved in a separate slot and tried to reload my last periodic save to see if I could correct the problem by re-ending the mission. Turned out my last save was before taking out the last two aliens in the lift. I guess it doesn't really matter at this stage of the game, we can just skip one of the subs. :)

I did take a long time because it was a night mission. Felt like I was reverting back to my old style of playing where I'd go reeeealy slooowly. As in 80+ turns for a Large Scout in UFO for example. Sonic cannons aren't very mobile weapons.

edit: Screens are up.

With everyone carefully using him, your avatar's become the man for the job now. Way better than Melanie.

To keep the flow going I skipped the queue as well.

I accidentally uploaded the original screens, not the double sized ones I'd processed. But shouldn't matter as it was just an every-day mission against an escort.
