December 9, 200916 yr Ok, for now I'm choosing between fraps (30 second clips in freeware edition) and something called debut. Any ideas on which is better? Any even better video capture freeware?
December 9, 200916 yr While I don't know those two or other freeware video capture options, SV, I am aware of a possible quality solution for the short term at least: TechSmith's Camtasia Studio. There are quick tutorials online that will get you started right away. Hopefully it will do the trick... :: Get the fully functional trial version at their site here. (expires after 30 days)
December 9, 200916 yr Author Seen it before. I'm looking for a freeware program that I can use indefinitely. But thank you anyway, Camtasia is well graded!
December 10, 200916 yr Author Hmmmm... These movie clips are BIG. I'll have to degrade quality a lot. And I'll probably be using debut as 30 seconds is a very low limit. Will do some testing.
December 10, 200916 yr Well, if it's uncompressed video then they should be huge, even with low resolution recording. After compresion they should be much smaller.
December 10, 200916 yr I've found an interesting article that gives some tips on how to go about recording, editing and encoding game videos, all with free software... :: Check it out here, SV.
December 11, 200916 yr Coming soon, a six-hour video marathon of me setting up in Combat Mission! Don't miss it!
December 11, 200916 yr Author Check it out here, SV. Ooooooohhhh, a BAG FULL OF GOODIES! Thank you, Thorondor!!!
December 20, 200916 yr Author I'm still having problems with video encoding. Does anybody know what could cause red-blue colour swap?!
