New Progress release 1835

Featured Replies

Although this is not top news anymore, we would like to announce the release of the progress release 0.4.0.1835.

It features a fully playable Planetview, a working Baseview and a rudimentary Battleview, so that theoretically it is possible to play the game right up to the Thanatos mission.

For the first time, Xenocide is delivered with an installer, checking and installing all the needed prerequesites for you.

If you decide to give it a try, please send us your feedback!

I downloaded and installed. The XNA updater hung at something, so I clicked ignore. Now it crashes when trying to start it. Will get you better info when I have time to look at the error etc.

We do have a verified problem with the XNA updater, especially on some Vista and XPx64 systems, that is why we are changing the installation routine at the moment. I guess it will take only a few days to get out a new version. I guess you are missing XNA refresh v1.0. It can be obtained from here.

In general and for everybody:

Should the game itself start but crash or hang during that process, please have a look in your Xenocide installation directory and check if there is a CEGUI.log. Should it be there, please send it via PM or contact us via https://www.projectxenocide.com/contact.php we'll then get back at you asap.
