Selling My X-com / Microprose Collection On Ebay

Heh, every so often I go pass a custom embroidery shop with custom prints or images on caps, shirts, anything (like Autobot symbols to names of favourite sports teams, bands, etc), I often get this urge to go in and then handing over a T-shirt and asking for a red rectangle (with white outline) on one sleeve and a cyan rectangle (white outline) on the other, and then both overlapping on the right pocket - ala the UFO basic jumpsuit labelling.

Though that's in the game, I don't think it's official X-Com symbolism. It is in my minds eye, but perhaps not to the corporate bigwigs. And I feel it (and TFTD's badge) doesn't get enough love - well, not as much as X-Com Apocalypse's gold and black X badge which appears to have become the official logo/brand for X-Com.

There's a good reason for that, Apoc's logo is better. Too bad it took them a few games to get a decent badge out of it, otherwise the first two games would be sufficiently represented. :D

UFO never truly had a badge of its own (well intro-wise), hence why I've always associate the jumpsuit badge with it very strongly. TFTD's wasn't bad, but you couldn't quite help but feel that it was encroaching on another particularly very popular piece of pop culture with a very similar badge. It just added two pie shapes to it. As for Apocalyse - wouldn't it make a great belt buckle?

Oh yes, there was too. The red >

For some reason I seem to remember a triangle with an unclosed corner in a yellow circle for the Avenger. In reality the marking on the Avenger is just obscured - So my mind's just making stuff up thanks to the "A" in Avenger. :D

I seem to remember finding a hi-res image of the TFTD logo somewhere in the Apocalypse data files when I was digging around...as for the belt buckle, the standard X-Com uniform in Apoc does indeed have an "X" buckle...you only notice when you take off all that armor...and manage to ignore that ugly stock face... =p

First of all, I edited your post to remove the unnecessary swearing. Don't know what happened between you and him (obviously there's money owed somewhere) and I can't comment on the scamming allegations.

Here's what I can say: I purchased most of his X-COM/MicroProse collection back in 2009 or so. He was very friendly and service orientated. Everything was carefully packaged and combined to save on shipping. He answered every one of my messages and emails (which was quite a few) and went so far as to iron the t-shirts before sending them out. I got everything I purchased in the condition described. This was back when he was still with Skyranger Games.

I did see he created a new eBay account and was selling the remainder of his X-COM items (IIRC a few strategy guides, some novels and a slug of shrinkwrapped copies of TFTD), although I never got around to contacting him. AFAIK, all of his X-COM items are sold now.

Did you ever try to contact him? Or file a complaint with eBay?

I still have all the emails between him and me, when he still had his scamrangergames.com up and running.

The first parcel arrived fine and was a bunch of strategy guides including some x-com ones. However some of them were badly damaged (pages torn, holes) and he refused to do even partial refund. I will post pictures of these "collectible condition" guides later on.

Then i won this

=================================

he clearly only interested in profit and was not interested in selling that stuff as cheap as i won it (i think). However he still decided to "pretend" he shipped it. Yet refused to provide and shipping and tracking details (YET tracking was provided for first order with the guides).

I've been waiting for a few weeks, asked where was my package and got no response ever since. Nowhere.

What kind of complaint can i file if it was 6 years ago? Of cause i can write to his current email adress, but judgjing from my experience most i will get would be ignorance and maybe some anger.
