Gimli
IGN has made a list of games missing from the PC, and X-COM: Alliance is among them: X-COM: Alliance was the sequel to the popular Micropose turn-based strategy series, X-COM. X-COM: Alliance deviated from the formula of its successful forbears by opting to play out from the perspective of a First-Person Shooter. The game placed players in the role of an individual team member on an X-COM squad. X-COM Alliance on IGN's Missing In Action list
Bomb Bloke
Each squad was comprised of 12 team members, most of whom were female.Well that's random. The X-COM franchise was originally created by Micropose, ...Lies!
Zombie
Bah, I never have much faith in IGN. The people that write those articles may know a little about the games in question, but they certainly aren't experts on X-COM. Still, it's a fun read if you ignore the errors. The question becomes who would want Alliance to be resurrected when most fans hunger for a Genesis-type title? Besides, the whole series started with a TB system, not a FPS, so it would only be fitting to stick to that method. - Zombie
Gimli
Did anyone notice the Micropose typo? I couldn't decide whether to correct it or not, but decided against it. Also, they made the same typo twice.
Zombie
Well, they misspelled it three times, but who is counting. I mean, a picture of the box cover (UFO Defense nonetheless) is right next to the story with the correct spelling... - Zombie
Matri
*sighs* I suppose we lose the opportunity to be a part of a mostly-female squad, making innuendos and getting fresh and hopefully only get slapped in the face instead of being the receipient of several hundred methods of painful death they are most likely trained in. Oh come on, you know you want it too!
Zombie
No thanks. I work in a 95% female environment, and when their monthly cycles start to coincide it's bad news for us few men. Extend this to a combat squad and the results could be disastrous. - Zombie
Pete
That whole bit on Alliance is full of inaccuracies (spelling and otherwise), but hey, who's counting... ...oh, you guys were :(
