baby arm
Absolute Games was lucky enough to snag 36 new screenshots from the upcoming sequel to Brigade E5, codenamed "7.62". The screens mainly just show off the new environments and graphical doodads, but it's nice to see that the project is moving along regardless. Check them out here. There's also a short video. Stream it here or here. Thanks to Balor for the info.

baby arm
There's really not much info about it yet, but it's been in development for around a year. This article had screens from test levels back in December 2005. Here's what Balor, one of the BE5 beta testers, had to say about it:From gameplay perspective, a much more nonlinear and dialogue-heavy storyline is being written.A 'limited destructablity (I suspect pretty much like in Ja2) is planned. Graphics improved - it does not look like a completely indy title anymore.Everything else, including best and most realistic combat system evar (provided that you can stomach the very idea of RTwP), huge overmap, improved (from already smart enought to be annoing) AI and a LOTS AND LOTS of guns and other men's toys for you to play with. (Moreso then in E5, expecially armor types)Planned features (planned does not mean they'll get into final game, though):Repairable and refuelable cars, trainable miiltia, ability to capture location that produce certain income, your own base of operations you can get later in the game, etc. Looking good so far. Hopefully, they will indeed improve their storyline. E5, despite all it's nonlinearity, featured rather bland one. Oh, and a rather annoing problem of E5 was fixed - almost complete inablity to use cover due to engine limitations (cannot stick to walls, trees, etc). baby arm
Mondblut pointed out to me that AG.ru has an interview with Apeiron about 7.62. Here's the Babelfish translation.AG: Main plus Jagged Alliance - it is indisputable, the staggering spirit of freedom. You described how our solutions at the global level appear. But there are whether versions with the passage of concrete sector? Apeiron: Yes. For example, it is possible to be diplomatic or rough. Or to find another character, who will propose the alternative solution of task. Certainly, in many respects the nonlinearity is caused by the fact, on whose side you play. Let us say, there is the captured officer, whom the partisans took. Government charges to save it, and rebels want so that you would be straightened with it and they proved their faithfulness thus. Moreover to make this is possible the different ways - to agree with the partisans, to stage murder or is simple to smash entire protection. Selection after you.
