Oyez folks!

 

I'm getting a tad annoyed with my very old DOS version of TFTD, so I thought I should try and invest in the CE edition. However, a search of amazon and eBay yeilds no results. Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of the Collector's Edition these days?

It's really tough, Mouse. I got my CE version off eBay about 3 years ago for a fair price. These days, it harder to come by and costs lots more. You could try Amazon.com, but it still costs plenty... if they even have it in stock.

Is that the Collectors Edition or is that just a collection of them?

That's the UK Collector's Edition with UFO, TFTd, Apoc, Interceptor and Email X-COm in it.

 

I have the same version and can confirm it contains the CE version of UFO and TFTD.

And just checking that this is the version that (supposedly) works on XP at normalish speed with some minor tweaking?

The CE (Windows) version works happily under XP SP1/2. Due to some faulty graphic coding, the game looks weird on most systems, but a certain fan made loader (which is used by just about everyone) does the job.

 

The CE version has never been officially patched, so any other is designed for Dos.

Aha! Some more got put up within a few hours of the first one ending, much cheaper, so if anyone else is looking, maybe now is the time!
