You know, these would make a hilarious premise for a light-hearted x-com fan-story.

 

So, the aliens steal livestock, sell the meaty bits to a fast food chain, and they keep the leftovers and other bits that no one wants to make their nutrient juice. Ayup. Makes sense to me.

 

Stamped on all the elerium containment pods:

"Danger: Exposure to raw tubers will result in severe explosion"

 

Stamped on anything built out of alien alloys:

"Warning, prolonged exposure to salt water may cause product to melt"
