Editor not starting up..at all..

Featured Replies

I've posted this twice at the Nival forums and still do not have any responses. First one I posted a couple months back, second one last night, and I doubt anyone will reply over there.

my exact steps:

Installed game

Ran game, worked fine.

Installed MSSQL from CD1

Ran editor, able to pick which mod to mod.

Splash screen comes up. Freezes at this point until I end task on it.

So basically the "Silent Storm Mod Editor" screen comes up and then freezes until I alt+ctrl+del it. I've repaired the game, and uninstalled MSSQL twice. Nothing's working at this point.

Can ANYONE help me?

This sounds familiar, I can't help you... but I am sure I heard of this problem a while back.

I would suggest doing a search on the Nival forums, but NOT the technical support one, I have a feeling this predates the craetion of that forum area.

Also, the NIval forums have been down a lot recently, so that may slow the responses, but usually they are pretty good.

That's the thing. When someone posts a problem exactly like mine, no one has ever answered them. I searched and always came up empty - people posting the problem they have, exactly matching mine, and no one bothered to even reply.

It seems like a topic killer over there.
