sigget Posted November 5, 2003 Report Share Posted November 5, 2003 Hi again. Today im releasing the first version of vfstool, a tool that will allow you to import files into vfs volumes. So hex-editing should be a thing of the past now. The tool isnt really finished enough to be a 1.0 release, but it seems stable enough to release, and i know you can't wait any longer :-) Ive been in contact with altar about the gui-tool's and we're discussing a joint effort in developing them. My guess is that the official tools wont be released for quite some time. So there is no reason why you should wait for them to start modding. Instead, join the unoffical attempts and start modding now! Theres no undo feature so the best thing to do is have the tool insert the original file into the vfs. I recommend that you keep a backup of the vfs files you intend to change. Have an unpacked version as backup to if you only need a single file. If you run into problems using this tool i urge you to contact me.
