the A.I is weird in this game, they start hating you if you have ships in their territory, but they seemingly don't mind spamming your territory with everything. Also refusing to make a ceasefire or peace treaty even if they are on the god damn edge of total extincion without no hope of salvation

Yeah, something like that. Usually I just hoard planets as fast as I can while boost spamming tech. Then somehow getting loads 'a tech while capturing planets from hostiles with insane amounts of ships. Even I don't know I manage to do that Such is power of the Soviet Russia

Eh, it's quite a mess right now, node lines being going all in the most annoying directions and I haven't researched FTL trade yet, so I'm in a bit of an nickel here with funding the construction of more fleets. So I have to balance wether to build more ships or spend it on research and hope my fleets can stay alive long enought

Only a couple of tens of lightyears away from this one, the first "contact" was nothing but a crude assault on the Deep-Space Relay-Station 17. No details were given about the nature of the assault, but the facts are that the race uses vessels constructed from scrap metal and uses unknown type of FTL-drive, and have telepathic abilities. The KGB wants to keep this a secret from the people, and to prevent any remaining rebels taking this as an opportunity for attempting to make contact with these creatures. This day marks the end of the "Great Patriotic War" 270 Years ago as our glorious nation under the leadership of Josef Stalin, the man who set us to the path to the star, led the nation to victory against the facists, but also, against the power-hungry, greedy capitalists of the Western Nations. And uniting the Earth's workers under single rule of People's Republic of Soviet Russia. In the heart of our Glorious Soviet Union, in the Capital City Moscow, a Grand Parade was held, with the most elite, best equipped troops of the Red Army marched on the Red Square, with our great leader receiving the parade from the same balcony, which many, many other leaders of our nations have done the same. With the invention of battle computers, we quickly begin the construction of these command ships for all of our combat fleets stationed across our controlled space. A very stubborn and easily modificable model, with tens of variations for it, from a supply ship to an Railgun Destroyer. The numbers that come after 8, are the model-types, such as our newest Destroyer model TT-892, which has gone multiple upgrades, which was at the time of the first report model TT-830. With unmodded, basic Fission Drive, armed only with weak 200mm Naval Guns. Right now our newest model is TT-892 that has improved Fission Drive, and along with 200mm Turrets, 2 Medium-Turrets with doudle-barreled 407mm Guns. We have currently 2 variations in our service, the TT-892-"D" model, which is our standard Destroyer, and the TT-207 "M" model, the "D" stands for "Destroyer", and the "M" stands for "Missile". And as you can guess, model TT-207 is the support ship of our fleets, armed with 2 turrets designed that launch SN-61/C Homing Space-Missiles. Our standard Combat Group consist of 1 CnC ship, 4 TT-207-M's, and 6 TT-892-D's. With things organized ahead, I could rest for a couple of days. And as fortunate as the times were for the Soviet Union, our scientist accomplished their task ahead of schedule, in couple of days! They are now able to research Suspended-Animation. Sudden emergencies in the developing colonies need the help of the navy, and colonies need them to guard themselfs from the dangerous asteroids that randomly threatens colonies around our imperium. But none of these are to stop our progress of becoming the rightful owners of the galaxy! And now for our galactic news: News from the Lavian system about the new..." The commodore sipped from his mug, as glorious our great imperium is, they could seriously improve these "motivating" broadcasts. Leaning back on his chair, feets crossed on the table, sipping his coffee, and watching the television. The Commodore felt peacefull. Having organized the construction of ships and organizing the new established colonies, and giving orders for the numerous fleets for months nonstop had taken all his time, but during his career, he had learned to appreciate peaceful moments like these. Trying to clear the new cluster of information in his head, the commodore cut the ever-contuing flow of reports: "Uh, ye- yes, that will be sorted, let's proceed on these tasks on the Command Center" "Yes Sir" "Phew" thought the Commodore, talk about stopping the flow of Volga! Walking to the Command Center, the crew snapped to attention, after giving "At ease" responce the crew returned to their tasks at handling the various communications and information flow handlings. First job was to organize the colonization of planet. Then divert the Supply Fleet "Gulag" to the stranded Colonization fleet on System "Vision" and begin the resupply progress. As the Communications officer begun sending the various orders to the fleets, the Commodore put his attention to the report at hand about the success of the Research Project on "Heavy Guns" This new turre-, and guntype increased the firepower of the Red Navy ships greatly. But to organize many ships into combat, they needed command ships, and what those command ships needed? Battle Computers. And so the scientist were dispatched to new task. But one thing was beyond him thought. Why can't the damned scientist research several projects at same time? After a week, 2 planets has been succesfully colonized and were already starting to terraform. After the end of the Great Patriotic war in the year 1946, the world's workers were united, and the Peace loving people of the Socialist Republic of Soviet Russia could finally be in peace. In the year 2008 the eyes looked on the stars, as the first colony on mars was established. This was to be the beginning of a new era for the worker's of mankind... It is the year of 2316, the Soviet Union has laid it's mark on the galaxy, after the invention of Sukhonov drive in the year 2101 (technical classification as "Node-Drive") the Union spread to the stars with rising rate. After years of terraforming, industrializing, and populating the planet "Solaris" in sector C592i1, the workers of the Socialist Republic were set to expand, in the name of Russia, for the people of the Union... The officers of intelligence snapped to attention as I entered the Command Deck. "At ease, how are the factories?" "Commodore, Factories on Solaris are reporting in and are ready for construction projects" Answered the young Lieutnant, standing on his station with a big-green screen, filled with various informations about the infrastructure and industry status on the planet Solaris. "Good, and what about the Automated Units for our factories?" "The designs should arrive at the end of this week" "Excellent" I thought, the Automated Units could signically increase the production efficiency of our Ship-Construction ports on planets, and it would decrease the cost as no more nearly as much workers were required to build our glorious ships for the Red Navy. http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3576/swordofthestars20100801.th.jpg First part of our task was to construct Colony ships along with a tanker, the reactors of our ships consumed large amounts of uranium on long trips between solar systems, therefore a tanker was a must for fleets to Node-Jump to refuel the ships incase of fuel-shortage. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3576/swordofthestars20100801.th.jpg After the construction of the first colonization fleet was complete, and sent away, 2 scout-type ships were build. And both of them were sent to 2 different systems to explore. Not for long, the Colonization fleets arrives to their target system, and immediately finds a habitable planet, rank 7 in class-specification. After the scouts discovered habitable but way too much expensive terraforming requiring planets, along with new node tunnels, it was decided to build more scout ships to search these systems more efficiently. Meanwhile, our "Automated Units" designs had finally arrived along with couple of scientist to help us research new inventions in the field. With the help of new scientist, the scientists were tasked with designing Orbital Foundries to speed up the construction and the cost of our ships. After over a week and new explored systems and habitable planets, their porject was complete ahead of schedule. Our ships may not be well armored but they would atleast be well armed!
