DID YOU KNOW THAT.... if you put a civilian und esp controll, the computer counts them as dead and deducts it from your score?

evil computer wont let poor ltns to install nasty x-com cd on it. always tells me that i have to install it with a different command, prescious... tried it on advanced computer... still didnt work. poor smeagol managed TFTD on it but the action speen in missions and the geoglobe was veryn evil indeed... (sorry if you think i'm trying to ressurect an old thred. i have no clue what you people consider to be an old post.)

I still dont understand the ending cutscene in tftd. whats it mean?

Do the unjustice to Heavy plasma that was dome to the laser canon! TAKE AWAY AUTO SHOT!!! IF you change the Laser rifle in any way, I shall lose my temper.

I've been trying to install some x-com games on my old compaq lately and it is very annoing. It's on of the old compaqs and only has 100 speed and not a lot of memory. But it still has enough left to succesfully run both at the same time. No matter how many times i try, it never lets me either of 2 things:A.Install a X-COM game. or B.Play an X-COM game. I tried this on my more advanced computer and only got TFTD to work. I miss the simplicity of UFO DEFENCE! What should I do?

I still stink at the games, but i am MUCH MUCH better than when I started. Now, I just wait until the first month is over. I only save an retry after that if i completely bombed a terror site. Dont feel bad about doing it, its an advantage!

Some of these answers seem stupid, but lets all be honest. Has there ever been a time where you would just like to load an alian grenade up a civilians butt? or shoot a rookie who fell under mind control? Not to mention when you slave over everycountry in the world keeping them save at your expence but they still cut their funding? you bet there has been!

Artifact sites are HUGE!!! I suggest that you bomb every room and every nook. Ther are some nooks and crannies in the room where you see the aynonmos device tower the elevate to the second and third floor. There are also about 10 lifts that lead different places.

For every size of ship there is only one layout so it's easy to remeber. I can remeber the layouts for ufos, bases, and cydonia. in UFO defence.

Low roofs, strength, stamina, anything blocking your path. all these affect your throwing ability. Especcialy the low roof part.

wait a second. in both TFTD and UFO, explosions were displayed by SKULLS for the explosion...

I always notice that its the rookie with the heavy weapon who gets it. In my opinion, just walk back to the sectoid/etheral and shoot it repidedly. Or throw a grenade in that direction(primed for 1 and sent with wishes for bad luck). :sly:

gee... I took controll of them and cought them on fire or something... You have no idea how funny it is the see a sectoid walk into a fire and stand there for three turns. it's even funier when i release him and he runs around on fire and unarmed.

I got a new one. It was near the end of the game. My funding was going down monthly cause I lost both the USA and Japan. And I knew that I was going down cause there were the ufos, two bases and a terror site. and ust recently one of my bases was seiged and I nearly lost it. But then, I finished my research on the ULTIMATE ALIAN SUBMARINE VEHICLE THATS NAME I FORGOT!!!! So I loaded in my remaining dudes and meterials and went to tleth. More specifically, two seaman and a captain all with disrupter pulse launcher and ammo. The ammount of lobster men really disgruntled me. I won. :alien2: :bomber:

Just so you dont get stuck with the lobster men, try this. capture both a dead and live gillman(or the deep one) and research both. You'll then get the thermic lance technology. Research all the way up that untill you get heavy thermic lance. It's a hand to hand combat weapon that has a 99% chance of a one hit kill for lobster men. The 1% that wont kill is the one where you miss. If you dont do that, research the strongest explosives and weapons.

in a group of Seaman on their firsat mission, Nikolai Mannski Sniped a Aquatoid from across the board with snap shot. Instant kill. He wasn't promoted. Please post your amazing finds.

Lobstermen are rather weak if you have H.T.H weapons. It's those stupid Tentaculats I really hate.

thank you all for the advice. But for the one where the plasma hits do no dammage, that works both ways. Don't try to prove this. If you soldiers are like mine, they literaly cant hit a muton from one square away.

uuuuhhhhh....how should i put this?When i play UFO defence, there are some weird bugs. First of all, when i use a blasterlauncher, when i make it go up or down it flies toward the left side of the screen. all of the time. another one is when i get up to a random point in the game, than it shuts off. I finally got a certian facility and when it is finished the game turns off. The last one is really weird. When an alien shhots my man with a heay plasma, nothing happens. My dudes have taken headshots and not died, whats up with that?

I've beaten it on the easiest mode. But i... :dontgetit: didn't get the ending. what was with that?

Does anyone know where i can find the X-COM game Apocolypse?
