  1. If it's available, yes. It would make him safe from AI rebellions, but he would get no benefit from all AI technologies. For benefits, he would have to research AI Slaves (if available, of course). Aww, come on. It would be fun. By now you've won the game.
  2. How did you order the fleet to go that route? AI tech research - fun for the whole emipre!
  3. You could reduce economic and/or research efficiency to make it harder to get money and/or new tech. Nothing beats the thrill when you go with fusion CR and DE vs AM DN.
  4. It's been a while since I played Civ games, but if I remember correctly cease-fire works pretty much the same there. Usually AI won't attack you during cease-fire, but if it finds a nice target it will break cease-fire and attack you. I'm glad to hear there will be an update for SotS, SV. I hope it will come, as they said, after they fix that mess of SotS2.

  6. Yes, you're missing the fact that AI is a cheating bastard. Ceasefire != peace. AI uses it to make you feel safe when in fact it's building ships and preparing to strike you. But seriously, ceasefire is not a peace treaty. It just means you're not in active war with a race. You can both still attack each other without penalty. As for alliance on-off thing, that is a bug, I think.
  7. Didn't even see Quark Resonators were the second topic researched! That is beyond great. Forget the shielding, they reduce recharge time for all beam weapons! This + lancers = WIN. Ups, got them mixed up with Quantum Capacitors.
  8. Ahhh, lancers. A serious upgrade from HCL. Very happy we got them. We'll be able to open our food in space cans faster now. Wow, didn't know about this one. Zuul got some nice toys.
  9. Of course. So you can tell them they have nothing to be afraid of and that you are their new best friend. And that you can see fear in their eyes when you tell them you will eat them and their children.
  10. You lucky sob. Do you have "Translate English" researched? It's required for "Node Tracking: Human". Morrigi? Who did this? Humans? Do they have impactor DN? Or just cruisers? Maybe biuld a few CR with deflectors?
  11. I'm referring to this part : But never mind that. Do you have access to heavy beams? Cutting beams are excellent weapons. Maybe use them with absorber section. And if you manage to get quantum capacitors from salvage (doubt that) that would make a killer combo.
  12. If you're referring to bottom left weapon (blue-grey circle with 27 445 damage) that is node cannon. Plus you lost DN on 3rd battle, not on first. Hope, but I think you're screwed. Do you have AM torpedo? It can lead to AM cannon. What about ballistic weapons?
  13. Just one complaint : it's too short!!! Nice video and nice battle. I noticed that you didn't bring reinforcements near the end of battle. You had a DN first on the reinforcements list so it couldn't jump in because you had too many cruisers in the battle. On purpose to make things more interesting or you didn't notice?
  14. I'm glad you fixed it. As for vsync : I don't have CCC (but I do have ATI 4850), but it should be in CCC - graphics - 3D - 'Wait for vertical refresh' and and set it on the 'quality - allways on'.
  15. I think you have a problem with v-sync turned off. Check if it's turned off. If there is no option in game, try forcing it through video drivers.

  17. Hi and welcome to the forum. To unlock Plasma research you have to capture a commander and research it. It will unlock Plasma technology. There is a number of technologies that are unlocked by researching a commander so try to capture them early in the game. Commanders are recognized from other aliens by their color. For example, vipon commanders are green.
  18. You'll get "Node Tracking: Human" when you research "Node Tracking: Zuul".
  19. I don't mind. The more, the merrier. Disruptor shield. Meson projector, if I remember correctly. AM before DN, now that was a mistake. I think is no good researching AM as you don't get many new weapons that are powerful enough to surpass DN weapon payload. Next time put AI players in teams? I'm sure that will be a good challenge. I don't think so. Nah, it's just a good excuse to field your new DN toys. :P Anyway, finally we see where Morrigi have their nests. And a quick question. I'm playihng as Liir and I've researched "Node tracking : Human". How can I see their node lines?
  20. They must have lost their HW recently. Doesn't losing HW inflicts heavy morale loss on the whole empire?
  21. Slowly we are running out of fish fins, and roasted bugs are somewhat scarce as seen in the map. I hope there'll be plenty of cooked monkeys (with and without fur). And for desert, raw bird eggs with rosemary.
  22. This is really a stroke of luck for you SV, and a big blunder in AI coding. If they remained allies I think you would have a really hard time to defeat them, but now it's going to be a piece of cake. Can't wait for your next update, should be very interesting.
  23. This can happen quite easily. New colonies are VERY vulnerable. Once I did manual combat (1 minute duration) with 1 enemy destroyer and it fired ONCE (with mass driver I think, blue sphere) on my colony and my colony was destroyed.
  24. Well, I was curious so I went to SOTS wiki and digged all the data on most of the weapons. DOWNLOAD The best weapon for colony cleaning would be plasma projector. It fires 30 bolts that kill 5000 population per bolt. That is 150 000 in one shot with 0 infrastructure and HR damage. Plasma cannon is very good : 25 000 kills per shot.
