Hi to all. I just made my first attempt at modding something in aftershock resulting in a very frustrating experience. My goal was very simple: to change the troop names. I only changed 10 names past the forth entry in the troopname.txt as the first four are the first as I was getting weird results from messing the first four (like Human appearing as a name and nickname). I think this is because these names are used in other files as well (tutorial & starting squad?). Anyway what I noticed is that all the new recruits generated have all the names EXCEPT the ones I had added. To narrow it down I changed all human male names to John Doe except the first four ones. Guess what happens? Exactly, all new recruits show up with just these four variants. So my question is: what am I doing wrong? Does anybody know how to change the names in this game? BTW I also tried changing the names by playing aroundwith the save games with no success what so ever. Thanks in advance for any input or assistance. Regards, Default
