I am about 14 days in on hardest setting restarting after WG on mid level. I have a lot of stuff I do not need. As It takes So much of the 3 resources to build things, why is there not a 'BIN' you can de-construct items you no longer need to get resources? All the Items need the 3 items so destruct/construct = same so destruct items say - 50% and use the rest for new Items or research. This is a society (if it is that?) devoid of most resources. When you have a bunch of bases alowed to use base resorces, that are relient on re-cycling, i'ts a bit silly that you can't recycle the stuf you find?

Why don't you just order from play.com in the UK? They do a good deal for collectors edition at £18 and they will do air mail to you for another few quid - you should get it in a few days.

The most recent ones seem to have some issues for a lot of people. Rollback to some earlier ones and try underclocking your card. It may help.

I must slowdown myself in this game. I have played about 80 odd hours since loading it up on Sunday night. It is the most addictive game I have played for some time. I work from home and this week I have done almost Zilch. That little ufo icon keeps urging me to 'click' and then its several hours later. I am normally very good at saying enough is enough but with this I just gotta do another mission! Last game that done this to me was War in the Pacific ( a hardcore grognards game) and I still put in 4 or 5 hours a week on that, but not this week.

Thats a nice touch making units and monsters behave according to time of day. Any Idea at what time they go home for dinner? That way I might catch them snoozing after some roast Human or whatever it is they eat

On this game defragging can help it has been mentioned in posts on the official site forum.

Sound card driver conflict? Are you using a creative card? Firewall or other system tray prog? Antivirus prog? Try underclocking your graphics card that can help sometimes on this sort of thing.

In a mission if a squad member drops ammo on the ground it will sometimes vanish before another member can pick it up. Also Changing 5.56 ammo whilst in a mission from FL type to Normal can crash the game when you unload a weapon.

Although these copy protection systems can be a pain to a few people but they are needed. It is the only way you will get new games developed on the PC. The protection is in the form of a serial # issued with the disc or with a digital download. The number is held in your account on their servers. At the moment they have about 30 specialised games and a truly excellent customer support service. This is the way that specialised games including this is one, have to go. Piracy kills games unless you sell about a million copies. Generally most that complain about protection are those that use copies or have some conflicting issue in thier overloaded, underspeced, badly maintained rigs.

Yes those little mean sods. Morelmen can be tough if you let em get in close to a low level operative. The rest of em are mincemeat ( unless thet have a RPG those things are nasty - I have seen missiles fired from a windowed small room past girder's, trees, rocks and land on my level 9 blokes toes!!! And then within a min 2 more have been launched!!) For a start in that small space after years of collected dust, the alien should have been blinded in the first launch - some should have hit other things and one should have gone up his nose is the confusion! Mind you, It was quite funny when a morelman threw a grenade at my lad then aimed his laser and.........................nothing. He had taken out the battery and threw that at me!! As he was the Alien to capture on the mission and the last one left he done a runner. I then had 5 mins of chasing him round and around the battlefield in a Benny Hill fashion before I cornered him.

What is the best way to deal with these things? Thay seem to move at about 100 miles per hour ( nothing in the autopsy say's that they have over 3 million little legs!) Shotguns seems the best so far!! They get tough quickly it seems to me.

The resource management and tracks has been doing my head in since I started the game yesterday. Suddenly realised that the best way to get the resources you need is to trade them. You get loads of low tech and both the cyborgs and the other bunch will trade you for alien and high tech. Your rating will go to neutral but do em a favour and you can do it all over again - its bartering realy!! Smash game though much better than I was expecting - hopefully a patch will iron out the few bugs I have seen so far.
