    The firmware update did nothing for my drive as well. (XP,Sempron3000,1024RAM) Sorry, i don't know which version of Starfarce Silent Hunter uses.

    My DVD drive no longer played DVDs (CDs) after i installed Silent Hunter III which uses Starforce. I had a BTC DRW1016IM drive. CD's would play fine, but no DVDs. And burning CDs wouldn't work either. I bought a new drive. Btw, my graphic card died some days later, but i don't think that was caused by Starforce. At least i hope so....
