Strange things in X-COM
In the game I started recently I attacked a landed small scout. At the start of the mission I saw that two of my soldiers had spawned on top of trees some distance from the skyranger.

Isnt it possible to move him around using another soldier to stun him, pick him up and revive him somewhere else?

Soldiers stats
Thanks for your extensive answer! So you could create an army of super soldiers just by making aliens drop their weapons, move them into a closed room and keep panicking mind controlling them? I think the increase in bravery is logical, but strenght? I meant the difference in the stats of your own soldiers. Is there any difference in the speed with which the stats increase? Sorry about that , I guess i have to be more carefull which questions to ask.

Soldiers stats
Do you know how much certain actions increase different stats? How much do you increase stats if you shoot or kill an alien, and does it matter what type of alien it is? Do your stats increase if you get shot or mind controlled? Is there any difference between auto-shot, snap shot and aimed shot, and is there difference between difficulty levels?

Strange things in X-COM
I had another strange thing lately: A chryssalid was attacking one of my soldiers. After a lot of hits I got this message: "Patrick Blake has become unconscious". Then the chryssalid (it must have been a rookie ) finally managed to turn him into a zombie. Does that happen often? I had never seen it before.

You can fire 3 autoshots with 1 TU ?!?

My first attempt went like this: I covered my back with proxy grenades and slowly moved to the command centre killing 10 aliens (mostly with grenades) to get there. When i entered the lower room of the command centre some alien fired a blaster launcher and blew up the whole room, killing my soldier instantly. :dead:

MASS ATTACK!!
Most of the ufos attacked close to my base, so my interceptor was able to shoot down the terror ships and most of the scouts before it ran out of fuel . I didnt have a chance to take down a battleship though. You mean medium scouts? ( the one manned ship is a small scout )

Anti Alien Infiltration.
Whether or not an alien infiltration is succesfull has to be random, because i once had two identical infiltration missions at the same time: One battleship landed on the Nigerian capital, the other on the Egyptian capital. I sent skyrangers to both of them and they arrived almost at the same time. Both missions were succesfull, and i didn't lose any soldiers. At the end of the month I lost Nigeria, but not Egypt.

It really is possible to fire 3 auto-shots. I think it depends on how many TU your soldier has. I checked it in an old savegame. The only units who could do it were those with 57 TU.

MASS ATTACK!!
What is the largest alien fleet ever to attack you at the same time? The largest i ever had was like this: 4 battleships 2 terror ships 2 supply ships 1 abductor 5/6 scouts (they all attacked in North Amerika) Apparently the aliens were simultaneously infiltrating / retaliating/ building a base / abducting / terrorizing My only firestorm was destroyed after attacking the first battleship and my skyranger was just refuelling from a mission so it arrived too late. At the end of the month i had lost the US and Canada and my base in the US was destroyed because i didnt have any troops in it. (i was used to not being attacked at my bases , so why station any troops in a secondary base?)

Sometimes you can fire 3 auto-shots per round.

Strange things in X-COM
I recently had another strange thing on a snakemen terror mission. I was down to one soldier who was pinned down in the skyranger. He took out several chryssalids and zombies moving about near the ramp  and i noticed they never moved up the ramp to attack me. Then i decided to try out what would happen if i positioned him on the ramp... immidiately a chryssalid moved up to my soldier and turned him into a zombie I wonder why they didnt attack earlier, because they could see me. (one zombie fired one of those weird reaction shots) Maybe they are too scared to enter the skyranger

Strange things in X-COM
My interceptor was armed with two plasma cannons. I would classify those as upgraded weapons

Strange things in X-COM
I dont know whether this is common or not, but it sure is strange: I attacked a crashed medium scout and when i got there the thing didn't have a scratch .

Aborted terror
Later in the game i often get terror ships flying over, but if i dont shoot them down they dont always cause a terror site . Is this because they were heading for a country wich had already signed a pact with them , but the aliens only realised this on their way to the city?

Great idea! (why didnt i think of that ) But it would be better if i didnt pick up the alien plasmas either, that would spoil the challenge. Btw, how do you finish the early terror and base defense missions (wich i dont get ) with only two soldiers?!?
-

When using the weaker weapons you need to have several hits before an alien dies(well, at least against a muton  ). With the heavy plasma 1 hit = 1 death , so you dont need 32 shots. It would also be more fun if you run out of ammo sooner, because 1. you'd be forced to be economical with your ammo 2. you would have to think more about what you take and dont take on a mission 3. that would make the laser rifle more interesting

X-Com base attack
thanx for the advice I almost immidiately had two attacks. The first one was shot down, because i forgot to sell the fusion defenses and grav shield . (it was an old savegame  ). I had a lot of fun taking down aliens with proxy grenades only . I barely used those on the other missions. However, your comments do make me wonder if it is some bug, because in the beginning of the game i couldnt have had a mind shield and i still wasnt attacked.

Do you think the heavy plasma clip is too large? I cant remember i ever had to reload a heavy plasma.

X-Com base attack
When i play xcom i rarely get an assault on any of my bases, even on superhuman. I find that very dissapointing, because i liked those battles very much. What do i have to do to make sure my bases gets attacked?
