So... I guess it will work on my computer - atleast it haven`t ruined it yet. So the order from cd-wow.com is already on its way Just hope it gets here within a week or so. Not good to combine studying with UFO:AS I guess, but I will let you know how many courses I fail because of AS

But, eh - isn`t that strange? I have installed Daemon-tools and I haven`t had any problems afterwards (yet...). And why does the demo need starforce? There is no cd needed to be verified.

Yes,stupid question. But still. Have installed the demo of AS, and it works fine - it haven`t f***ed up my drivers yet. But I guess the only version with the starforce is if I buy the full one? Or are there also "some files" in the demo that have been "modified" by the starforce-thing? Is there a program or a gentle way to find out how my computer will handle the starforce-alien? Like a webpage with a program or some statistics on which systems/cards that perticular have problems with the alien? Will await my ordering of UFO:AS, because I do not want to ruin my computer (need it for schoolwork right now) - but perhaps I will try it towards christmas if I backup everything and have the time to re-install everything. Can someone post a step-by-step guide on how to install a game that have starforce in the most gentle way? For instance witch programs to deinstall first, make a windows backup point and so on. But I must say, it will be hard not to buy this game - the demo looks really nice. Even on my Compaq Evo N800c laptop with 512MB RAM and some 3 year-old graphic card.

Good that the game is finally out. Have already played too many hours with the demo, and I am trying to find good reasons to do school-work instead of buying the game (please help me ). I am currently living in Prague and have some options: 1. Buy the game in Czech at the local stores (doesnt know how/where to find an english edition) 2. Order from a internet-shop (most likely play.com or cd-wow.com(because of the possibility to get the collectors edition...)) 3. Take the bus to ALTAR and sleep outside untill they give me the game for free So is anyone here from czech republic? yes ofcourse there are some. In Norway we have this stupid law where there is a limit on the value of what we can import from other countries. Is there any restrictions/limits when buying from a internet-shop abroad and deliveries in czech republic? Thanx for any replies. A slow reply will probably help my schoolwork alot. Hm,have to say I am a bit jealous of the guys who did go to play. Although I am studying in Prague, that precise day I had to be on school to register for class - BAH! Have to make som bitmaps of my teachers and add them to an expansion-pack for Aftershock to be satisfied. Just waiting for the newsletter now though, but something is wrong - so I had to register all over again - hope I did not miss it When will the winners be announced on the web-page? Would be great if you could play on the computer - "pause" a couple of missions. That is: Just say that you want to take them - select men and weapons and put them in a queue for later playing. Sync it with the PDA and play a couple of missions on the bus/train/plane/whatever and when you come back you can sync it once again and the missions are now marked as complete A bad part is that I think Java in general is slow, but unforunately there are not so many alternatives that will work in PDA, mobile etc.

Is this any different than opening launcher.exe and selecting Compatibility mode of VAs ?

Seems so. After playing the same game for about 2 hours, I saved the game and went to study. This night when I loaded the file it was the same problem once again. Even though it is cool, I do not want to control the enemy. It seems like I have to finish the game without saving - I do not have time for that at the moment. Anyone have some tips? Have tried reinstalling from scratch, and I have just formatted so I can not figure out anything to do. Also I have the newest Omega drivers,but this error does not seem to be a graphic-problem, more like a in-game bug. But I do have the 1.4 version installed from official page.

I had the same prob,but couldn`t seem to find the config file - you have to push OK in the launcher menu - and then it gets written and you can alter the KEY "force_old_va_mode" BOOL FALSE. Thanx for the solution Wrath. I hope UFO:Aftershock will support mobile ATI-cards better

Strange,this is what I did. Tried to start a new campaign with a new name, still controlling the enemy. Tried to rename Profiles-directory to Profiles-Backup, and start a new game. Now it works fine, yet. Will write again if the bug suddenly starts again, but have played a couple of missions - so seems fine

I also got this bug today,but I have just made a fresh install of my computer and the game, and the patch. So this is strange...

hi! this is my first post,sorry for the bad writing,but my computer is missing some keys for the moment. I just wondered if there are any X-COM or UFO games on mobile devices / PSP / Gameboy or something. Would be cool to have a small-scale version on my mobile playing over blutooth with my neighbour Greetings ^SiggeN^
