  5. Hi How close are we sticking to the original game development ? I was wondering, as TANK/CANNON and TANK/ROCKET LAUNCHER are on the purchase/hire personnel screen. That could get Photon off the hook with Knight ? Has anybody managed to get the laser pistol developed before the first ufo is shot down ?

  7. Well - I have no set time yet. Maybe we could start a poll to see when folk can play ? I have also found that MSN messenger claims to be able to start the game, but I have a feeling that MoSlo would not be used in that method.

  9. Hi I have just spent all morning tring to hit anything ! I eventually gave up and attempted to get the game to run with MOSLO That eventually did the trick ! :sly: Now all I have to do is try and figure out how to get a LAN game to work.

  12. The game always slices up the alien stuff. You never get an intact craft back to the base.
  13. I have a theory, that the sectoids have the PSI implanted in them. This could be like a "brain tumour" that is stuck in the sectoid's head by the Ethereals. But then again - I am only borrowing that idea form Babylon 5. The Shadows and the Vorlons did that kind of thing to humans.
  14. Hi I had Chris Black lined up to do some PSI development too ? At least the part where you take a Sectoid to pieces, realise which bit is an internal PSI amp, and build a human bio-interface.

  20. The Amiga AGA version does let you rename stuff. But like Psy Guy says there is no "night" in the tactical combat. Plenty of E-115 - from bases and large ships, supply ships are always a good fuel source, if you standoff and track them until they land. The civs turn into crysalids on the higher levels, after they have been down for a couple of turns. Sectopods are more vunerable to explosions and lasers than plasma. Cheers Doug.
  21. Chris was still in shock after the revelations just announced. He sat in the Auditorium allowing the queue for key cards to dwindle. He had always suspected that the "hoax" stories regarding extraterrestrials were more than silly season page fillers. He joined the group and half listened to the wild speculation on what lay ahead. Then he was holographed for the card and issued with a schedule for the next few days. This he scanned as he left the hall. It looked to be mainly briefings and lectures to bring everybody up to speed. Noticing his medical examination was set for 10.00am the following day he made a mental note to skip breakfast. He hated all that poking around and it always made him nauseous. Reaching the lift he thumbed the card, it was a good sign as the door slide open allowing him to get in. Up on level 2 there was a lot of activity. He decided to avoid the crowds and go for a workout. Pausing at his room for long enough to grab a towel, he noticed his room mate's stuff spread over one of the beds. Well, he would discover who it belonged to later. The gym was large enough to play team games and use the machines at the same time and nobody else was using them. He found the locker room and changed, into a pair of long black silk pants and tied a piece of black silk around his forehead. "Time to find the centre again" he thought. Finding a comfortable place in the gym he bowed and started his Calenetics. He allowed himself to start planning, and realised that somebody watching him. He continued his routine, maybe just showing off a little bit as he added some faster, more combative, moves. He felt the presence departing and relaxed. Now, with His mind focussed again, He thought about his job here. It became clear that his last project would be very relevant to the task. He had been developing synthetic endorphins and metabolic enzymes. "Now" he thought "I will be able to try out that new protein sequencer and get some real results". He wondered if his colleagues suspicions of carcinogenic side effects would prove to be true. Well, the new superiors here would have completely different priorities to the guys in the public sector, maybe they would trial it anyway. After an hour of stretching his body he took a shower and decided he would try the mess. He left the gym, wearing a comfortable white towelling robe and slippers that he had found in his locker. They had even provided toiletries. "Well" he thought "at least the service in this base is better than expected." He entered the mess and picked up a bottle of mineral water, before approaching a group fellow inmates.......

  23. Character's Name: Christopher Black Character's Callsign: VAMPIRE Character's Background: Born in a small town in the North of England, he grew up on the street. His father was unknown to his mother, apart from his creation and she died hours after his birth. He was cared for in an orphanage. The other children did not like him, as he knew things that they had not dared tell others about. There were no secrets from Chris. He did well at school, not needing to study, he just answered the questions correctly, as if he was choosing the best answers came naturally. He also has a natural ability to acquire new languages. Chris. was given a scholarship to Oxford where he was interested in the ways nature worked. He studied Bio-Technology and went on to do research into the many ways new compounds could be used. This work was noticed by the large Pharmaceutical companies who were falling over each other to get him signed up. Character's Personal Information: About average height, well muscled - but not overly so. He does Yoga every day. His dark hair which is shoulder length is tied up at the back. His eyes are very pale blue, his mouth is wide with good dental work. This has often reminded others of the singer "Sting". He also has Celtic designs tattooed across the top of his shoulders, back and upper arms. He was drafted in to Pine Gap from a project in Malaysia and is wearing a tight fitting suit of finest slate grey silk, dark leather sandals and a pair of Police shades.   25. The current system where you, pick the map you want, play turn No. 1 with the default set up created by the map is good. But I was wondering if it would be possible for you to allow both players to alter the type and number of units and issue pick-ups to units during turns No. 1 and No. 2 Cheers Doug.
